dude, you're doing just awesome. that's actually one of the first shots from my sister's Oly. i have a NEX and she got sick of the canon EOS i handed down to her and she wanted something smaller...the Oly fit the bill. i'm really, really impressed with it so far. i wish the NEX had as good of a selection when it comes to native lenses...then i again, i prefer shooting with my old glass.

thanks for that link...man, that makes the camera look even better. and the prices are easy on the wallet, too.

oh, and how do you like that 45/1.8? it seems to be a killer portrait lens.

on a related note, i'm getting really, really tempted to replace my NEX with the upcoming OM-D E-M5. i really like the 12-50mm kit lens, too. it's absolutely gorgeous and the 5-axis in-body stabilization will be a blessing paired up with my legacy lenses.

and just for some silliness...here's my sister's oly paired with my canon FD 55/1.2.

Cool

My first digital camera was a BRICK. oh YEAAHHH. =)

EDIT: In honor of that scene in Hi Fidelity when the records were strewn about the living room...
I'm presenting my extremely short list of cameras and sorting it autobiographical.

Starting with the above. The Olympus 340R. 1.3MP, bought in 1999. It was a point and shoot and is laughable compared with today's standards in size for its class. I sold the 340R to a nice woman who needed it to start her "eBay empire" back in 2000.

Which leads to my next camera, the Olympus C-2040Z. 2.1 MP. I have kept this one, and I really like the weight of it. Maximum storage is 128MB on a single Smart Media card. I retired this in 2006 and got my first SLR.

In 2006 this just came out and replaced the D70. It's heavy as F%^K. =) But it makes up for it in performance compared to the 2040.

the reason why my D-60 and PEN E-P2 is in the for sale section. haven't really put the 45mm 1.8 thru it's paces but so far I'm liking it. I'm waiting for my Oly WCON-P01 wide and FCON-P01 fisheye lens converters.

did you pre-order already?

i think i'll wait just a little while...i'll give it a month or two for real world reviews. and then there's a rumor that sony might release 2 or 3 new NEX bodies. i better not jump just yet.

haven't pre-ordered. waiting for the price to knock a few hundreds. the preview on engadget of the e-m5 is very promising and positive. if you haven't read that yet then have a read at it but I assume you already have

^ Thanks I appreciate it especially because it took me some time to take this one!

The sun was setting and the light meter was unreliable because of all that concrete, so I opened it up a little more but was still afraid I'd overexpose it. And I was waiting for the lanes to clear up and for an 18-wheeler to occupy that space - it took me like 3 whole minutes to take this one shot. I only take one so I try to make it count haha.

I also got yelled at by a couple of cars driving by on the bridge. Never really understood why people feel the need to yell at pedestrians. It's usually just, "Ahhhhhhhhh!" as they drive by. At least I didn't get a drink thrown at me - that actually happened to me once, don't know why either.

Haha yea I hate that feeling of anxiety, when you're waiting to see your pictures and hoping the light meter didn't throw off your entire roll. Just gotta keep your fingers crossed and hope that your photos reflect what you envisioned, but it is totally worth it when you're pleased with your results!

I've been on a film-buying craze the last couple of weeks. It kinda got out of hand, it's going to take me forever to use it all.

Is that the new version GoPro? My brother bought the old version one week before the new/better version was released at the same price! He had no idea it was coming out, it was really sad.

I'm shipping my camera away for repairs either today or tomorrow. I'll package it to survive a tornado, just crossing my fingers it doesn't get lost somehow.

Just got the Hero2 last week. The best part about this camera is that it's weather proof, and all the mounting accessories.

I've been having fun with the timelapse videos.

Just bought a "slightly used" D3100 on ebay as a starter camera with what I believe is the standard lens; the 18-55mm VR Lens.

Have never owned an SLR, only messed around with a few of my friends'. I hope to become fairly well versed so that I can shoot as a hobby. Any recommendations for a photography noob? Books, sites, or forums?
