If I win the mega millions thread...

I'll give $100K to everyone that posts on this thread before the drawing!

I don't know what else I'd do. Probably do some things to the fit and invest the rest. Can't even fathom having that much money.

I seriously doubt you'll give any of the members a cent. I assume you'll just disappear and live somewhere you won't get harassed by people you know for free hand outs.

well after taxes the $640mil will be more like $250mil and with that money I'll keep $50mil to spend til I die and the rest will be invested in gold.

As for the $50mil,

1. buy a penthouse in downtown LA (Ritz Carlton) = $5mil give or take $1mil
2. ferrari 458 italia in rosso corsa red = $330k after taxes
3. $44.6mil left and will think of what to do with it as time passes.

Hey now, debbie downer. I'd be legally bound to give everyone who posted on this thread $100K. By posting you have consideration and would no longer be a gift promise. I'm also a man of my word, plus, it would be awesome to just randomly give away some money to fellow fit enthusiasts.

A check would be fine haha. But hey if you're sending me free money, you could send me shipping containers full of pennies for all I care. Money is money to me haha.

You know what? If I win, I'm going to give you $100k, and that's a promise.

Heh. I would probably.. pay off the mortgage and my sisters loans.

Then be the most boring new wealth in the world.

Maybe give every active member here 10k.

I know I'm late to this one, but it's still an interesting topic, even though the prize has already been claimed. Anyway...

I live in Orange County, and I'd like to buy a really nice property in Newport, which will likely eat up $15 million for a good one, especially since I'd need a lot of garage space, haha.

It would be pointless to stock up on numerous cars, but one of the bigger vehicle purchases I'd make, as nearly impossible as it is, would be one of the six (including the prototype) McLaren F1 LMs in the world. It's been my absolute dream car since I first read about it, and I would be willing to part with $5 million to get it. The Veyron is bad ass, but it's not on my list of "must-have" cars.

Outside of an F1 LM, I'd have a couple nice DDs (perhaps a GT-R and an M5 to rotate between), with a couple of cars meant for driving to the snow (perhaps another GT-R but with snow tires and an X6M). I'd throw in a C63 AMG coupe for my dad (since he's a big Mercedes fan and doesn't care much for supercars) and something easier to DD for my mom, like a 535i that they could both use, since she doesn't drive that much. I'd likely give them a monthly allowance of at least $20,000 or so, just to pay whatever bills they have.

My brother got his MBA around the time the market sucked, so I'd likely hire him just to oversee my finances (while contracting others to handle certain things, like investments, taxes, etc.), putting him in a new car and giving him a good salary so he can live really easily but at least be doing stuff and utilize his education, possibly to land another job eventually, if he needs it or desires to work somewhere else.

For my cousins, nieces, nephews, etc. who are young (and the ones yet to be born), I'd set aside $25,000 for each of them (or $20,000 for the unborn ones) and put the amounts in an account (like a CD or something) and let it accrue interest, so by the time they are of college age, that amount will likely cover most of their expenses, except the money will be given to them under the condition that they maintain certain grades, do not get into trouble and get accepted to a university.

I'm really into movies, so I'd like to help finance movies that are relatively low-budget.

If I ever won, I wouldn't tell anybody (except my wife of course), buy a small house and a gas station with a service shop. Tell everybody I got an investor. Wouldn't really care if it succeded or failed, just have a cool place to work on cars. Put kids through college, tell them my shop is doing well.

Sit on the rest of the money, leave it to kids when I kick the bucket. Let them be suprised when they read over the will.

Everyone would know anyway. Don't know about there, but in Iowa your name is publically announced and listed in numerous databases when you win any amount over $10,000.

I'll join the fun...

If I win ANY Mega million jackpot..

I'd fly my Fit to Germany, "rent" out the nurb for a few hours and just lap that place till till I run out of gas.

If I have any money left after getting back home, I'd probably give it out to various family members. Of course, keeping some portion for myself.

If the jackpot were really big... who knows, maybe do what some have mentioned, give some to various FF members... definitely include moving this website to its own server... with NO ADs!!!
