Hi all. First thanks to those that helped with my cylinder head question. Got that installed this weekend and it is running well. . The not so good news is that the transmission was having difficulty shifting from 1st to 2nd. I changed the fluid and this helped. The fluid was dark but didn't smell bad. Didn't notice any metal shavings. Just wondering how bad is that? We have been thinking of trading in for awhile but I'd like to put that off as long as possible. Car has about 150k on it now.

 

What trans fluid did you use? Is this MT or AT?

 

It is an automatic tranny. I having been using the Honda ATF-DW1 as long as I have been maintaining the car. This is probably the 3rd time I have changed the fluid in about 50-60 thousand miles. The first time I changed it, it was very dark, but no smell. I don't know how long it had been changed before that, as I wasn't maintaining the car before that point.
