Trailer hitch?
My Hidden Hitch and the wiring kit from etrailers.com came in today. I got everything installed in about an hour (I could do it much faster if I had to do it again.) The instructions for the hitch were very well written. The lighting kit installed with no splicing needed. I was able to follow the instructions for the lights, though the picture quality was poor, and they could have been written a little more clearly.
I installed the box behind the driver's side tail light. The connection for the brake and left turn signal and for the ground wire are all made in this area. The instructions say to drill a 3/32" hole in the vehicle's frame and to connect the ground wire with a self-tapping screw that's included in the kit. I just removed one of the nuts on an existing screw that I found near the taillight connections and attached the ground lug there. No drilling whatsoever was needed. The wire for the right turn signal was routed under the trunk threshold. I also routed the 4-pin trailer connector under the trunk threshold and down into the compartment for the spare tire. I'll just pull the cable out and dangle over the bumper when I am towing something. Otherwise, all of the wiring is completely out of sight, even when the trunk is open.
The hitch and lighting kit cost $140.56 after shipping was figured in ($82.95 + $44.95 + $12.66). The shipping seems to be very reasonable, given the weight. The hitch arrived just two days after they shipped it (I am in Georgia.) The drawbar is included, but you need to BYOB, since no ball is included. Looks like the hitch needs a ball with a 1/8" shank. U-Haul wanted $260 for the hitch, lights, and installation. Doing the work myself was well worth the $120 in savings, IMO.
I’ll post some pictures of the wiring and the hitch when I get a chance.

does it work for the sport model? i've noticed that the trim sits a little lower compared to the standard model??
edit: i figured to add a bit more. new fit sport auto owner here in dc. I'm looking to get a hitch rack that i use for both skis and bikes. i tried shoving the skis in the fit but my better half would have to sit behind me for this ride to happen. we both ski and bike so it would be nice to have a hitch that solves both for us.

If I recall correctly, when I searched for my hitch on etrailer, it said there were two choices, one for the "Fit," and one for the "Fit, including Sport." If there are two separate hitches, perhaps the latter model dips lower than the former model.
Can someone that has the Hidden Hitch hitch take a few good pictures from behind their Fit from like standing height, and also about a foot or so off the ground looking at the back of their fit? Shots where you can see the entire back of the car would be great.
Thanks!
Thanks!
that's what im waiting on too LOL
No one?
Memo from eTrailer:
As per the manufacturer, hitch 24776 is expected to [be] released from production some time in the beginning of May.
After the hitch is released it should take around 2 weeks for our warehouse to have it on hand to ship. I do apologize for the delay and for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

All of them will fit your car. The "Hidden Hitch" has been reviewed with no negative reports. Make up your mind. You can afford a mistake- none of them cost much.
