0-16 Next generation Oils?

The recent video from Scotty Kilmer talks about 0-16 oils being designed for GDI engines.

I see that major oil manufacturers have now started to offer it.

Will this oil be beneficial for this generation's engines? Will it reduce or solve this generation's problem with carbon build up on the valves?

The new Fit's don't appear to have a carbon problem. Will it help other engines with carbon problems? I don't think so. Are emissions and MPG ratings out weighing engine life and performance? Maybe.

" It's just going to be for those engines that are suppose to take 0W-16 oil with the GDI engines. "

My 2016 is 0W-20, so not fitting those parameters. Until I hear otherwise, I'm not making the change.

Smart. Low shear viscosity and surface tension are important intrinsic properties of how thick the oil layer is on vertical parts. So unless they’ve reduced surface tension I want as thick an oil (the 40 in 0 W 40) on my bits when I start the car and in high pressure areas of the car like the cam lobes. To h@ll with EPA 0.0023% improvement in gas mileage. I want to keep my Fit for the same 17 years as my now former 2002 CRV.
