Civic DX manual 1.3L
Would probably be sick with a old school B18 or something swapped in, or keep it as is for a carburated classic Honda. If you think our car's are light weight around 2500lb, this thing is between 1630-1850lb!!!!

Seriously, I really would buy it if I had about an extra 1k to burn right now. Talked to the owner for a minute, don't know a ton but sounded like it was in decent mechanical shape and when I asked about rust he didn't mention any. Thought since we like these light weight less um, mainstream Honda's maybe someone here might be near him and interested and I'd rather see someone buy it who appreciates it than some rando who won't give a crap.

Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules.... if so, sorry.

Most 80's Hondas near me have long rusted away to nothing. This one appears to be pretty solid.

4-speed manual. That thing is pretty bare-bones! I wonder if it has AC.

My parents had an '83 that they bought brand-new. Previous body style, but same color. It was the special "1300FE" model which meant it had the smaller engine coupled with the optional 5-speed transmission, at a time when the small engine usually came with the 4-speed only. It also had a whole bunch of other stuff eliminated in order to make the car as light as possible. No AC, no radio, no armrests or center console, no passenger-side mirror, etc. The headliner was kind of a plastic-coated cardboard. I learned to drive manual on it, and being a Honda manual it was super easy and precise, but otherwise the car was kind of a dog. 0 to 60 was best measured with a sundial. It was tough to start the car without flooding it, especially in cold weather. Every winter it seems we'd have to go through a whole routine of heating the garage with a space heater, removing spark plugs and drying them with a hair drier, and a few other things as well. It needed valve lapping (or something, I don't remember what) at about 40K miles. It did however get great gas mileage, I once calculated 63 MPG on the highway (easier to do in those days with the 55-MPH speed limit).

The exhaust sounds a little uneven - It might need cylinder head work (valves and seats re-cut). That should show up on compression and/or leak-down tests.

I see no AC button.

Yep, I'd engine swap that thing so fast if I had the funds to buy it and do a swap... do that and put the best suspension and tires you can under it and it would be a hoot for sure... or again just restore it and smile at the pump while others are crying at it.
