The Hyundai Sonata rear end is basically a copy of the current Accord prior to its refresh.

So its no suprise there are similarities...

Hmm the back from side vision reminds me of the new 5 series bimmer.
How boring no HID? well what's new in American Honda, they always do that.
I wonder if they are not using chain belt for its timing belt...?

I care about the diesel drivetrain more than anything. The coupe looks nice and all, but I am deeply interested in the clean diesel accord.

For diesel matters, as fas as most american think badly or negatively about diesel...it's gonna be harder for most brand to market their beauties.
I used to have Golf TDi, and lots of my friends keep saying...oh diesel, must be slow as hell...and I was like...boy...this is how americans' view about one of the greatest engineering innovation.

Well, they have to start somewhere. With Honda offering a diesel in one of their big-selling cars, that should make americans less scared of them. I'd personally LOVE to see a diesel in the fit... or better yet, a hybrid diesel :)

Offering the diesel in a Civic would be a great combination, too.

I want regulard diesel cars now, because i live in SF, and us liberals already have independently owned biodiesel stations. But clean diesel makes the idea of diesel more attractive.

Anyone know whether biodiesel adds extra cleanliness to clean diesels?

The short answer is yes. See
http://www.biodiesel.org/pdf_files/fuelfactsheets/emissions.pdf

One of the major benefits of biodiesel is that it has virtually zero sulfur content. Emissions are lower in CO, unburned hydrocarbons, particulates and sulfates. NOx emissions are slightly higher.

Every Accord is uglier than the one before.
The 2010 Accord will come with a Buick hood ornament...

Biodiesel does lower the MPG a bit, compared to dino-diesel, but no performance difference. Both get far better mileage than a gasoline engine and (generally) performance is off a bit compared to the gasoline equivalent. But they don't offer a diesel at all in the US... do they offer it in Canada? They do have an Accord hybrid here, but it's a V6 hybrid... so the mileage isn't as good as the Fit.
