Is it just me or does the side profile have a BMW style to it? It's not a bad design. It is definitely better than the redneck-NASCAR styling that the car has currently.

Kindof reminds me of a new GTO with a bodykit.

Actually it's an Australian car...it's the Holden VXR8. But dulled down a lot. Looks like they made it look less aggressive and changed some of the styling in the rear, but you can see the headlights and body shape are the same.

Hah good info... I was just about to say that car is Autralian or Korean... definatly not American haha. GM doesn't make too many of their own cars these days. Same for alot of automakers though... good thing when you buy a Honda you get a Honda. :)

GM owns Holden it's there Australian Brand like Opel and Vauxhill are some of GM's companies in Europe. So basically The New Impala would just be another product of badge engineering. Your still buying a GM just an Australian GM re-badged and styled, Same thing with Pontiac and the GTO.

Yeah Holden is a GM run company. But like the GTO, it is being built in Australia I believe. GM is really relying on their European and Asian designers and markets to help their brands in NA. You can really see the difference in the Saturn line up. Hopefully Ford will figure that out soon as they have some great cars in Europe that we don't see over here. I'd take the new Mondeo over any sedan in the Ford family in NA. The C-Max and Galaxy are also good ideas, but unfortunately they haven't jumped on it yet.

the side looks like an Acura TL, the front looks like a skyline (the black dual bulb housings) and the back looks just plain ugly. =]

Exterior looks nice, but I'll bet that the interior is putrid . . .

You'd be surprised, I hate to say it but a lot of the newer GM vehicles have nice interiors. Back in the day when they recycled parts for EVERY car they looked like crap, but they are starting to get the hang of it and realizing mass producing the same interior doesn't really help...

Well, if the interior matches the body design, I think they could have a nice car going there.

to me, the headlights look like a mix of an older IS300 and a skyline - the taillights seem pretty much carried over from the previous model impala - just smaller - and they look a damn lot like the accords. pretty nice looking car though.

There might be a slow down of gas guzzling cars being produced....but they'll never go away. Horsepower is too popular.

Last I checked this version has been axed. It was going to be on the same platform as the new Pontaic G8 that's coming out soon. Which is off the Holden line too.

Hopefully they still decide to keep RWD with whatever they use though.
