 Never did I think a brick would have to be wind tunnel tested.

I REALLY dislike dodge's design direction and the new caravan takes the cake in ugly.

I think most of our domestic car manufacturer's designs suck. Plus I also believe the domestic market is on "life support" because of them bringing back old designs, there is nothing new anymore. IMO

srt4's are fast quick but lame, i'm going with what that one guy said about stuffing an overboosted engine into a car and voila! sure dodge has mopar upgrade packages but they didn't really do any racing or testing or anything did they? look at how long the STi and Evo were in the works, years of time rally racing etc, and they're some of the most powerful and performance minded japanese cars ever brought to america. the same goes for the civic but in it's own unique way. bottom line srt4 might be quick, but that doesn't even compare to cars that have built up followings and are loved by thousands.

The exterior styling looks good to me. Interior is cheaper than a dollar store. Calibers are so cheap inside. I hate them!

From what I read years ago, this motor and trans is 100% different then the old Neon SRT4 motor. The old motor can actually hold power, this one cant.
These cars are going to be in the dealer 24/7. Hahha!! And Dodge just put out that new drivetrain warranty. Hahahahaaaahah!!!

Hope they actually did suspension in this one. It'll keep kids from flipping it like the Neon SRT4. Anyone notice that all those car accidents with Neons are from flipping. I think the owners need to know that just because its a "Strip, Road, and Track" doesnt mean take turns over 25mph. You will loose control and DIE!

Theres so many threads on OrlandoForums of Neons flipping at high speeds. Its almost funny.

Yea I agree the new Caliber is f'in ugly, but it's also f'in quick. I interned at Chrysler this past summer, and I saw how fast it could really go. It also doesn't sound too bad at WOT. I agree with all of the flaming that you guys gave it, but at the same time I knew a few of the people involved in developing this car, and it's disheartening how much effort they put into it. I personally want to shoot the people who wanted to rush this product to market without improving at least the suspension. However, that seems to be the trend for all american automakers.

BTW I was the only Fit in the parking lot haha

After many decades, the last true Chysler product we owned....in 1976 my father bought a base Volare wagon. Well, a 318 V8 and Posi were the only options on the car. Even had the tiny cop hubcaps.

Granted, the French made Michelin X tires outlasted the car's bodywork.

...but even with the US mandated smog stuff, boy could that car fly.

A neighbor where we moved to in Ohio a few years later was a cop, had Chevrolet Impals and Caprice for his town. When anything got out of hand they would call in the next town over to send in a Polara or two, yup, a 440 V8 with horsepower in the 360 range and an intake roar you could hear before the siren.

But the K car clones killed the once great Chrysler....(edit, performance wise, the bail out and the MiniVan prove the economics were to the opposite)

Why even my dad has two Asian cars in the garage now.

That's the curse of the SRT-4. You can't blame the car.

That's odd. I have never had a problem, and i have never heard of a NSRT just flipping over. Losing control and hitting a ditch causing them to flip = yes. turning at 27.3mph and just flipping end over end = NO.

Hehe. I guess my ears were ringing a little bit there. :o

The Jeep version (singular - as in only one jeep version that i know of) is the SRT-8 Cherokee, and i think even that has an upgraded suspension/tire/wheel/brake package -as do the rest of the SRT tuned cars.

FYI: SRT stands for street and race technology.

Idk I think the Caliber looks pretty good. Better than the neon for sure. If I was looking for a car that I wanted the most bang for my buck and would easily be able to make it alot faster will just a few mods i would definitely go srt-4.

There are a lot of ways to go faster for cheaper than a Caliber SRT-4.

1. KRX
2. used BMW 8 series

Lots more...
