Friends RSX-S Got Hit. :(

Heres some before.

So, 1:30am my friend got hit in his RSX-S. :(
Car was so beautiful. Some girl was trying to make a left turn into an apartment complex. He was just sitting waiting to make a right. There was a older Cougar making his way past my friends RSX. The girl in the Cadillac sped up trying to make the turn. She T-boned the Cougar and sent the Cougar went sliding into his RSX.

Hoping its not totaled. Looks pretty bad. Front bumper, headlight, driverside fender, door, rear 1/4 panel. Side airbag went, interior panel, window, 3 of the rims are messed up. Lips and spokes are chipped. The door frame where the door hinges mount is ALL chewed up. Front strut looks bent.

He drove the car home like that. Hes very depressed. :o

Major bummer man, it looks like a lot of work went into that car.

The sad thing is even if you get everything fixed up again the car is never really the same. I had something similar happen to my old Isuzu I-Mark T-LS, the damage was actually less than that RSX, but exact same spot.

Was easy enough getting a new door installed and having a shop do some bodywork to make it look like new again.... but it was never the same after that. Can't really explain it, but I suspect the frame had a tiny bit of deflection in it from the accident. It just never drove or cornered the same, plus at high speeds the door would let in air regardless of how many times I had the shop look at trying to seal it up better. I don't even want to get into what happened at the automatic car wash!! It felt like a shitty car after that :( So I flipped it and bought an SUV :) Woot!

I told him the same thing. I told him if its not totaled; did he really want to drive around in car thats had that much damage? It could be close to factory but it'll never be the same. Dont think he could ever AutoX it. Seems that were fixed (bondo) would crack. Also, trade in value would be shot down.

He wont know anything till Monday.

Hes fine. He got some cuts on his hands from the window breaking but thats it.

If the car is totaled he wants something other than an RSX. We already looked at a few cars online. He really wants a S2K. Others were A4, Evo9, GTI 4 door, (for fun) 3 series, G35/G37 sedan.

Hes got expensive taste. Might have to tone it down a bit. Hahaha!

The Cougar that was hit into him was passing by. It was a 2 lane road, (4 lane divided) Cougar was in the far left lane while the far right lane was free. I dont know about you but I wait for a clear road to pull out into traffic; even on a right turn. Anyone could possible get over as you pull out.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Daaamn! i think that the car will never be the same again in terms of functioning and looking. But to cheer things up, your buddy could end up having fun with a better car. He can still part out some things in the rsx like wheels, body kit and bring it back to stock and sell it.
Best wishes to him.

Insurance person came out today. He told me that the car was roughly $2000 shy of being totaled out. The lady actually was going to total it....

$13,000 in damage.
Car will be fixed and hes going to sell it at the end of the year. I think hes going to get a TL Type-S.
