Re: Water pump selant required beside rubber gasket?
I always use a small amount of RTV selant. The instructions for
installing
the waterpump usually also recommend the RTV. I use a small bead of the
red
stuff right on top of the rubber gasket. Make sure the engine-side
mating
surface is nice and clean.

A light film of silicone _grease_ is what I use, on the engine side,
otherwise you've got all kinds of gunk to scrape off next time you're in
there. If Honda thought glue was necessary, it would have been there
from the factory. They have this annoying concept of making parts fit
correctly without glue.
