Sell my Fit?
Sell my Fit?
So I drive a 07 Porshe Boxster yesterday and feel what its like to drive a car with real power. Here is the problem, I know I can get a used one for around the same price as the Fit. I know also that I will be sacraficing reliability for the power. If I turbo/SC/or swap I run the risk of reliability as well (and void a warranty). Paddle shifting in the Fit is not as fun as driving a RWD Boxster. What should I do?
Well theres a HUGE diffrence between a Porsche and a Honda Fit lol...But to be honest if i was in you postion id keep the Fit and wait for the Cayman to come down in price. Ive just never been a fan of Boxsters, plus they are far from reliable cars..Id go for a 04 G35C instead of the Porsche. But really its all up to you and what you like more! Good luck!
good point, I have only owned hondas and the space is something I use frequently. That being said, I need to feel that horsepower more than once every couple of months. For those of you that have done mod's, does the fact your warranty is being voided bother you? I would trade for a manual but I felt no justifiable difference.
You don't void your warranty by modding your car. There has to be proof that the mod is the direct cause of the problem, otherwise they have to fix it like anything else. If you find your dealer trying to play games with you due to mods regarding a warranty repair, go to another dealer.
So I can go to any dealer, not just where I bought the car? As long as I do mods that dont effect the powertrain, I should be okay? I really want that tien basic damp. set!
yeah man because i have a Cold Air intake, Headers and full exhaust on my car... and yes i still got my warranty, the guy that maintain my car said as long there is no problem with the part that i installed on the car im good, but any small problem with the parts or add any forced inductions to the in the engine MY WARRANTY IS DONE FOR...
You can go to any dealer you like, the warranty is valid at any Honda shop. And even if you mod the powertrain, like the poster below your reply said, the problem would have to be directly related to the mod for them to deny the repair -- i.e. if you've got an intake and your thermostat suddenly craps out, they have to fix it under warranty because the intake would have no effect on the thermostat in any way.
F*** a Boxster
At least if you are going to do it....get the Boxster S model. The Boxster is a piece and it is slow! Keep your Fit and turbo it....kits are putting down close to 200whp @ 10psi. You would smoke a Boxster!!
Like I said if you are going to do it....get the model S.

I find it hard to believe that the 300 hp boxster is going to lose to a turbo Fit. 10 psi is a little to aggessive for me anyway, i have to keep that warranty in place till my wife finishes med school!
I picked up a convertible Z4 2-3 months ago... I only drive the Fit on rainy days or when I have to move people or stuff. I alternate between the two vehicles when driving far to visit the family. I don't know about the Boxster, but the Z4 does 32-33 mpg on the freeway as long as you're not constantly squirting through the traffic like a madman. I only keep the Fit for the utilitarian need. I see the manual Boxster is rated 32mpg freeway.
The Ford Edge, 265HP and 4100 lbs... lol, I don't think that's going to school a 245HP base Boxster at 2900 lbs!
People (like me) can be split between fun and image versus frugal and utility, it's not that complicated of a comparison.
10 psi Fit is not even 200 whp, if I recall correctly.
