The Honda History Timeline

This took some time 2 type.....didn't see this anywhere and I know some where curious....ENJOY

*1946-Soichiro Honda established the Honda Techincal Institute.

*1947-Honda produces it's first product, the A-Type bicycle engine.

*1958-The Honda Super Cub motor bike debuts.

*1959-The Honda 125cc motorcycle takes 6th place in it's class in the Isle of Man TT race.
*1959-American Honda Motor Co., Inc. opens in Los Angeles.

*1960-Honda begins motorcycle production at it's Suzuka factory.

*1963-Honda releases the S500, it's first sports car, in Japan.

*1964-Honda enters Formula One auto racing for the first time.
*1964-Auto production begins at Honda's Saitama factory in Sayama, Japan.

*1965-Honda introduces the E300 portable generator.
*1965-Honda records it's first F1 victory in Mexico.

*1966-Honda N360 mini-compact car with air cooled engine debuts.

*1967-Auto production begins at Honda's Suzuka factory.

*1969-The Honda Dream CB750 Four motorcycle debuts in North America.

*1972-The Honda Civic debutes.

*1973-CVCC engine complies with Clean Air Amendments for 1975.

*1977-Honda Civic ranks first in U.S fuel economy tests for the fourth consecutive year.

*1978-The Honda Prelude debutes.

*1979-Honda of America Manufacturing opens and begins motorcycle assembly.

*1981-Honda wins 500cc Motorcross World Champions title for the third consecutive year.

*1982-Honda of America Manufacturing begins assembly of the Honda Accord.

*1983-Honda Civic CRX wins first place for gasoline car fuel consumption in U.S tests.

*1984-Honda returns to F1 racing after a 15 year hiatus
*1984-Honda Research of America opens.
*1984-Lawnmower assembly begins at Honda Power Equipment Manufacturing, Inc.

*1986-On March 27th 1986, the Acura division was launched.

*1989-Soichiro Honda becomes the first Asian to be inducted into the U.S Automotive Hall of Fame.
*1989-The Accord becomes the best selling car model in the United States.

*1990-The Acura NSX, a new sports car debuts.
*1990-Honda wins it's fifth consecutive 1st ranking in the J.D Power Consumer Satisfaction Index.

*1991-Honda posts it's 10th consecutive win in The Isle of Man TT.
*1991-Ultra fuel efficient VTEC-E engine debuts in new Civic.

*1993-Honda's power product engines are the first to meet California emissions regulations.

*1994-Honda enters the Indy Car World Series.

*1995-Honda introduces the first gasoline powered vehicle to meet LEV (Low Emissions Vehicle) standards.

*1996-Honda introduces the Acura CL, developed and produced in the United States, using local and globally sourced parts.
*1996-Honda announces a plan to produce an electric powered vehicle.
*1996-Honda wins the Indy Car Manufacture's Championship.

*1997-Accord and Civic LEV's commerce thoughout the United Staes and Canada.
*1997-Accord and Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) sales begin in California.

*1998-Assembly of the Civic GX, a vehicle powered by compressed natural gas, begins in Ohio.
*1998-Honda wins the Cart Engine Manufactures Championship.

*1999-Honda wins the Cart Engine Manafactures Championship for the second year in a row.

*2000-Honda breaks ground on a new 440 million auto plant near Lincoln, Alabama.

*2001-The Honda Accord is the best selling car in America.
*2001-The Honda Odyssey earns a double five star saftey rating for a third year in a row.
*2001-Honda introduces the re-designed 2002 CR-V
*2001- The Honda Civic Coupe becomes one of the first cars to earn an all around five star safety rating from the NHTSA.
*2001-Honda wins the Cart Engine Manufactures Championship for the fourth time.

*2002-ASIMO-Honda's humaniod robot rings the opening bell to celebrate American Honda's 25th anniversary of being listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
*2002-The Civic Hybrid becomes the first established, mainstream, gasoline-electric hybrid egine to be sold in North America.

*2003-10 millions Honda vehicles manufactured in the US.

*2004-25th anniversary of manufacturing cars in the United States.
*2004-Honda wins the Indy Car Manufactures Championship.

*2005-Honda wins the Indy Car Manufactures Championship.
*2005-Redesigned 2006 Civic wins the Motor Trend Car of the Year Award.
*2005-The 2006 Honda Ridgeline wins the Motor Trend Truck of the Year.
*2005-The 2006 Honda Ridgeline is the first ever four door truck to earn Top Goverment Crash Test Rating.
*2005-Honda delivers FCX Fuel Cell Vehicle to worlds first individual customer.
*2005-100,000th Honda Hybrid vehicle is sold in the US.
*2005-Experimental HondaJet makes Public World Debut at EAA AirVenture 05'

*2006-Honda aircraft company begins sales of it's HondaJet Advanced Light Jet. HondaJet was also selected by Popular Science magazine as the winner of the publications 2006 "Best of What's New" award in the Aviation & Space category.
*2006-The Honda Fit is introduced to the US and earns highest possible goverment safety rating for frontal crash perfromance from NHTSA.
*2006-Honda opens a new plant, The Honda Precision Parts of Georgia, LLC. The plant begins mass production of five speed trannys.
*2006-Acura introduces the all new RDX Entry Premium SUV, which is produced in the US (Marysville, OH.) The 2007 RDX earned a five star safety rating for both frontal and side impact performance from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and is a 07' top safety pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
*2006-Honda announces that a new 200,000 unit auto plant to build fuel efficient, four cylinder vehicles will be built in Indiana. Production is set to begin in 08'.
*2006-Honda R&D Americans open new Advanced Styling Center in Pasadena California, to focus on a future styling direction for future Honda / Acura models.
*2006-The Honda Civic GX natural gas vehicle and the Insight gas-electric hybrid were named the "GREENEST" vehicles for 06' by the American Counsil for an Energy Efficient Economy.

So when you think about it there are substantial gaps in it. So are these
just the benchmark things listed, or similar?
And as was said before you might as well edit the post to put the credit inthe passage.
Interesting none the less, thanks

This is what Honda had up on there site, probably just benchmarks in history well worth noting.
Here is the site as all history benchmarks had to be retyped. Anything they had on there timeline was dupped on this thread. Hope all enjoyed as I found it informative.
