Manual.

Original clutch, too.

Tranny bearings are getting slightly noisy, but should still be good for
another couple of years, according to my mechanic.

Yeah, but 248K miles is impressive in its own right, even if not a nice

dont think so. and as long as youre paying on a car, you need absolute
full coverage insurance.

But maintenance isn't reflected in new car sales. No one, i.e., Wall
Street, cares about repairs unless you're a defense contractor with a
juicy contract to maintain equipment which doesn't work to begin with.

 

So you are in Canada. Are you in or near Toronto? If yes, may I ask
which mechanic you go to? I am looking for a good one here.

Congratulations! I wish Honda would also give some sticker or badge for
every 100,000 miles or so under the belt beyond 200,000 miles. Heard
that Mercerdes-Benz is going to give a grille badge to everyone who
manages to log over 155,000 miles?

Absolutely! TeGGeR's on the cusp of 250,000 miles = a quarter of a
million - feels nice & round to me. The Subject says it all - no matter
how you slice it, it's a major milestone. The car's a '91? So it's
approx 14 years old.

You kinda need proper insurance with an older car too. If the car is "basic
transportation" ($500 to $1,500), it makes no sense to put big money into
it unless you can get something back if the worst should happen.This is
what appraisals are for.

Coming soon: Tegger's appraisal. I got the final paperwork last month, but
haven't done anything with it yet.

Liability only.

But if you buy a new car, and you finance it, the finance company will
make you buy collision and comprehensive insurance to cover them. Even
if you pay cash, you'll still want to cover yourself for that amount of
money.

For a $1500 car, you're a fool to have collision and comprehensive
insurance on it.

So buying a new car means other expenses, higher insurance, than if you
don't buy a new car.

$100/month for a car? You can't buy and insure a new car for that.

It's a bit more complex than that, hence the appraisal. I have both of the
above on this Integra, as well as windshield coverage.

It's great, I consider that my '91 Accord is excellent for driving 209,000
miles already, but I'm working hard to make that 250,000 mark happen! Also I
was raised in Canada so I'll definitely know when I get past the 400,000 km
step!
