2009 Nissan Maxima

2009 Nissan Maxima: 2009 Nissan Maxima, Revealed!

Wow...ugly stick FTW! It's a melting pot of a Volvo, Accord, Civic, Yaris, and other bits and pieces from other cars with the interior of an Infiniti...

Im almost 100% sure it will be FWD..That makes it even worse..If they are going to put out a car that big and bulky it should be a RWD. Nissan, what are you thinking with this one?

Probably something like "Well we can't upstage the GT-R...let's make the Maxima as crappy as we can!"

BTW the GT-R is absolutely beautiful...I spent 10 minutes standing there as it slowly rotated around a few times...

LOL the interior is basically a re-badged Infiniti interior :p I seriously think they wanted to make it look like it's gonna cry so it can garner some sympathy :p

Everything looks great except for those weird headlights. But they made it look too much like the G35/37, especially the shape of the hood.

I haven't liked Maximas since the second gen went out of production. That car was replaced with a melted jelly bean look, which was incredibly boring. The outgoing car always looks like it was a 350Z that was morbidly obese. This new one is craptastic. They are popular around these parts, but it's pretty obvious that most people I see driving them are poseurs. If they were car enthusiasts, they'd buy something lighter, nimbler, more powerful, possibly rear-wheel drive, and better looking. If they were in the market for true luxury, they wouldn't buy these either. The Maxima seems purposeless to me.

But most of Nissan's designs are strange. The 02-07 Altimas are great looking cars, and Nissan brought out a garishly disproportionate thing to replace it. And WTF is up with the new Murano's grille and headlights? GACK!

I saw one in person... cannot begin to describe how hideous it is in person. And how big and bulky it is. I am sad to see how all the new cars just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger, and seeing people at the autoshows confirm it... Americans are getting really fat. It's truly astounding to hear people at the autoshows sit in these giagantic boats and complain that it's tight and there's not enough space. Yikes.

Did this a few weeks ago. I thought about doing it myself. Amazing what a few simple changes can do for a vehicle.
