I traded my 05 xB auto, after 20k miles, for a Fit Sport MT. I found the Fit to be more refined overall. The xB had way too many rattles. Don't get me wrong - both are great cars and I loved the xB. Another issue was the mileage - I just couldn't get past the 27 mpg average I got in the xB - I was lucky if I hit 30 or 31 mpg on long higway runs. In the Fit, I already get no less than 33 mpg, and have gotten 36 - only 900 miles on the car.

The xB had a quick little motor, but it just sounded like it was not as happy as the Honda is to be revving high and the Honda just feels quicker. The space is generally the same - the xB felt bigger, but the Fit simply has more useable cargo space.

The dash on the Fit is much nicer - not even a competition. Also, driving in these little cars, it made me too nervous not to have any side airbags, and especially the side curtains for my kids in the back. That was the major thing that brought me to the Fit.

I miss my little/big xB, but my Fit is a better car.

wow, we're actually back on topic here for a bit john... thanks for your feedback... i test drove an auto xb and an auto base fit and found that the fit's motor and throttle response was a lot quicker than the xb... interesting gas mileage that you got with the xb too...

Yeah, I fell in love with the look of the xB, but the Fit can't be beat for mileage, safety and interior design. The xB is COMPLETELY my style, too... but the Fit looks sporty and fast, so I'll be VERY hapy. :D
