rear light stay on even turn off light and engine

rear light stay on even turn off light and engine

I have a 93 Honda accord EX. I do not drive for one week. then find the
rear light is on while the light is turn off. Please tell me the reason.

The brake light? Possibly a shorted brake switch or the wire to it is
shorted to ground somewhere..
