2009 Acura TL -Official Pic
hahaha duh cause it's an acura... you get what you pay for (as for a Japanese cars are concerned) XP
juust messing with you
smilies are disabled here =[
Looks like a combo of the newer lexus and the saturn's large sedan. Straight up, butt ugly! The model out now is much better looking. They made the same mistake on the new TSX as well. New designers over there not getting enough sleep? You know they get their power from dreams over there at honda!
The floodgates will open on the '09 Acura TL soon enough, but in the meantime, Inside Line has posted a set of press photos and confirmed the car's final specs. As has been previously reported, there are two versions: a base 3.5L car with 285 horses and front-wheel drive; and the range-topping TL SH-AWD, which gets a 305-horsepower 3.7L V6. The Type S is history, replaced in essence by the SH-AWD. Both TL models are mated to 5-speed automatics, and a stiffer chassis should help make time spent behind the wheel more engaging.
Inside, the layout is one that should be familiar to anyone who's spent time in a new Honda or Acura. Metallic-look wings arc out from a center stack topped by a multifunction LCD screen and finished at the bottom by Honda's all-in-one controller for audio/info/nav interfaces. In short, techno-gadgetry abounds. The new TL is a larger car than it predecessor, with a 1.4-inch longer wheelbase and 6.2 inches added to its overall length. Consequently, interior space also improves over the outgoing sedan.
While the current-gen TL is Acura's most attractive vehicle, we have a feeling the new-for-2009 edition may not age as gracefully. The new corporate shield grille is in place, adding bling to the nose and offering enough frontal reflective surface to repel a Klingon phaser bombardment. If you miss the obviously-an-Acura front end, you might do a double-take to deduce what the car is in profile thanks to a C-pillar kink that apes BMW...and Infiniti, and the Jaguar XF, to name a few. Out back, the trunklid repeats the shield motif that started up front. Regarding the car's styling, there's much for you to discuss in the comments below. Stay tuned for plenty more information and our first drive impressions of the new TL in the days to come.

holy crap the rear and interior look good!
hey guys, if bmw can get away with bangle butt, acura's have a right to look a little funny.
Remember that the rest of the automotive industry doesn't think that slamming little japanese anime-looking hatchbacks on quirky huge offset 15 inch wheels is exactly handsome either.
i think it looks great.
its funny because honda/acura gets criticized so much for bland designs, and then when they change that, its the HONDA/ACURA fans that lash out!
i feel bad for them. Me on the other hand, i'd own this car.

ugh these are such typical responses!
i have no pity for anyone who thinks this is an eyesore: you and the automotive industry asked for it with all the chastisizing that honda/acura get for thier 'conservative' designs of the past.
look up old reviews of the tl and tsx. you find them riddled with comments on how the car is solid, 'nice', but unispiring. very plain and conservative.
what did you think acura was going to do after getting buttloads of crap like this?
i loved the prev gen tl, but this one is MUCH more competative with the german competition. and while i don't love the new tsx's driving dynamics, the looks i dont mind. (but the prev gen WAS better overall.)

Oy, the back end is uglier than the front end. You can't even put a bag over its head. Bangle butt FTF.
Underhood is a desert of plastic covers, why don't they just cover the whole thing with plastic and paste a picture of what they wished it looked like on there.
Interior looks exactly like the loaner Accord I had last week except in leather. I hated the center control panel in that car! Couldn't find anything, kept adjusting the heat when I wanted the radio and so on.
Ugly outside, non-intuitive controls, and festooned with more electronic gizmos and nanny systems than the space shuttle. "Engaging driver experience" my ass. eldaino has it right, this thing is a competitor for the Germans. Too bad.
