mesh wheels FTW!

i like the 5 spokes too, but they kinda looked too big on the mini.

yeah brake dust is killer, your car could be clean, but then like two seconds later, you go out and drive and it looks dirty already. I use a MINI California Duster to remove all of the brake dust on our cars.

hahhaah the other day i was washing the fit, and realized, that the back brakes were not even dusty at all! i was so supprised. then i realized that the backs are drums!
drums ftw. dumb owner ftl.

yeah but the MINI was crazy, i've heard about the green stuff ones, but ken what do you mean like street performace. i've only driven on stock brakes, and never driven on upgraded ones, i guess for tracking maybe, but for street i just use the regular oem stuff.

yeah i wax my wheels too. hahah i thought that i was one of few, i guess there are many people who do that. i use this bottle of free wax that i got at a car show. its a mother's nanowax or somehting like that, i think it has a noble on the cover. it smells good. i put three layers on, on even odd coat for the wax on the paint.

thanks GD3-Fit. yah, i too have this thing for BBS mesh wheels.

on the MINI i have a CAI, 15% s/c reduction pulley, Milltek catback,
H-sport lowering springs (will swap these out for KW's or Bil's coilovers
next season), 19mm adjustable rear swaybar, some interior bits like
simple stereo mods, sub, knob, shift boots, etc. car runs great from
the getgo so haven't done too many mods to it.

LOL on the no-dusting rear drums. :rotfl: hahaha!

aftermarket pads come in several grades, like street, street/track,
track. all varying in heat resistance and amount of braking capacity.

even if i was to use the aftermarket pads made for 'street' it would
not brake as well as the OE pads because the pads would not heat up
as much under normal use. if you're carving canyons that's a different
story, but here in IL where roads are 99% straight my brakes do not get
that hot. i will almost always be in the lower-end of the operational
temp range for the pads and not getting the full braking capability.
sucks even worse in colder weather.

so even though the OE pads are a pita for dust, i still prefer them over
the low-dusting aftermarket pads. :)
