Got an offer for a new '08 Yaris at $1000 of MSRP. In Canada the '08 Yaris gets $1000 for Federal and Provincial rebate. That makes it 3k off MSRP. Help!
one word.... "Yaris" If your all about just getting a cheap car go get it. I dislike the no room feeling while sitting in the car. Feels too cramped, and the nice features that the Fit have arent there.... without paying more.
I considered the Yaris... until I actually sat in it. Base model is cheap, both in price and in features. No power windows!? C'mon, what cars come like that these days? Sit in the Yaris and play with the A/C knobs and you can hear/feel that it's cheap. It's clunky.
By the time you add all of the options you want you might as well pay the extra $1000 or so to get a Fit. But if you don't care about options then you should get the Yaris.

um.... you won't "Fit" in here....
I decided against it after I saw a few of them driving around. Even if they offered that discount here... I doubt I would have got it over the Fit. It's just not as cool of car IMO.

If all that matters is money, you could get into a Chevy Aveo for cheaper I bet.
Yaris is ugly too, you won't be happy with your purchase shortly after. The most surprising thing about the Fit is the "regret" that usually sets in after buying a new car never did... was just happy with it.
I can't say as much for the aftermarket parts anymore, but that is another story ;)

I think the yars 3-door is a good lookin' car. It's no Vitz, but it's still good lookin'. However, you should test-ride that thing before considering to buy it; it's pretty weak. Doesn't handle like a Fit, nor does it have any hip room. I can't imagine taking an hour long drive in it.
This is the very first thing i noticed. Thought it was only on the Yaris RS. I am not sure i can ever get used to the dash.
my bro's gf has one.. it is SO UNCOMFORTABLE to sit in the back! No headroom and the head rest is lodged in your back... theres plenty of leg room but not much cargo space. Extremely cheap LCD displays like they're out of a 1980s digital watch
the fit is a all around good, solid car with it's features it's worth the extra cash

i still want to ask this...so shoot me.
were you expecting a site dedicated to Honda enthusiasts to say "yes, get a yaris"?
and if you went to a site dedicated to Toyota enthusiasts, would you expect them to say "Yes, get a Fit"?

I'm sure a Yaris is no better. Yuck.
Now, this may be a dumb question. Would you drive a Yaris if it was given to you for free? You are the Ultimate Fit Freak if you say No. /bow
