2010 Mazdaspeed 3

IRVINE, California — Mazda is getting ready to unveil its 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 at the upcoming 2009 Geneva Auto Show, and has released a teaser video previewing the sporty hatch.

Mazda will introduce the high-performance version of the Mazda 3 five-door on the morning of March 3 in Geneva.

The new 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 is expected to go on sale in the U.S. in late summer or early fall, Mazda spokesman Jeremy Barnes told Inside Line.

The Mazdaspeed 3 is loaded with aggressive styling and a direct-injection 2.3-liter turbocharged engine, but still has the functionality and cabin space of a five-door hatch. It joins the Mazda 3 four- and five-door models to round out the 2010 Mazda 3 lineup.

I still can't get past the smiley-face front end. It looks decent, but it isn't aggressive at all.

The new STI looks more like a Mazda.... the new Mazda looks more like the STI. Give it a chrome grill and it will be the same car (minus awd and a couple grand)

i think that's the old speed 3, honestly eitherway i don't see any resemblance....i just think the new 3 is eww, the old 3 was NICE, and the new STI is hotness!

Ill take the STi with the MS3 rear.

 

Sti has more muscular angles, IMO... but the hood scoop on the 3 really reminds me of the STi. If Mazda did make the 3 look more like a subaru on purpose, can you blame them? Either way both cars make me wanna sell an organ so I can afford them!

 

I can't wait for the Kia copy to come out, they will just take what middle ground there is left between the Subaru and Mazda :)

Although I saw pictures of the new Soul to come out... is it just me or is that car actually unique!? Talk about a change in strategy.

I also agree about the Soul, i was trying to get more info on when I was looking for cars last OCT. But the dealership had no info on it yet. I am still not sure about the KIA quality, though.
