Finally its time for the release of the Chevy Challenger...ooops, I mean. Camaro. The only missing from that picture of them in a line is a big monster truck coming to run them over. I BOOOO GM!!!! I boo their last ditch efforts to save a fiscally irresponsible company by going back to marketing performance cars to people who cant afford them. I suggest if anyone is getting one you trailer it home from the lot, put it ina heat controlled garage and leave it there. That way when GM falls apart you will have something worth the money you paid for it.

Um, this is not one of GM's "last ditch efforts." The new generation Camaro has been in the works for years and and the release date on some model trims (i.e. the Z/28's) is actually on hold indefinitely. The people over at GM aren't as dumb as you make them out to be.

Noted. However your statement does not change what is. The company is where its at today because they put too much research into cars like the camaro and corvette while letting cars in the lower tiers become, quite frankly, a joke. Following the marketing principle of letting your big names pull people into buying your low end crap will only work for so long. This is especially true when the Premier models from the big three are produced in limited numbers.

People eventually stop subscribing to the thought process that if the corvette and Camaro are good everything else must be too. Just because the Shelby GT500 KR is fast does not mean I want to buy a focus because its what I can afford. On the day when Americans come to the realization that they have been duped, we will smile because we bought Honda's.

I do not now, nor will I ever support a domestic corporation that continues to produce thousands of units of a product people wont buy. What was once a shining point of American ingenuity has boiled down to a conglomerate of greed, where the will of shareholders was to shamelessly pander sub-par products in an attempt to keep their brand name afloat, while union leaders demanded that workers continue to get pay increases for poorly assembling the same lackluster collection of parts into each new model year of the same old crap.

I implore you to read between the lines of sarcastic satire sir or maam.

PS great pics Sid.

Touche, sir or ma'am. XD The only GM product that I think has had any hope is Saturn and even they're nothing much rebadged Opels =\ And looking into it, it seems GM will be shutting Saturn down by 2010 anyway. Tsk tsk.

Nice pics. Interesting article about eh Camaro in the latest Motor Trend atm. They talk about the 556hp Z28 version. Then speak about the Camaro in general. The car is basically done as you can see by these pics. Problem is GM doesn't have the money to launch the car properly. There are also people in the upper offices thinking that is this might not be the type of car they even want to launch being that they are begging from Uncle Sam (aka your tax money) just to barely keep things going.

Gas sucking cars, suvs, unions, and over bad business practices got them where they are.

Time will tell how this car ends up. Or how GM ends up...
