the engine is cooled by air.

 

Just what it says. Instead of radiator fluid cooling the motor, it just uses air.
So theres air cooled, and water cooled.

dew; that guy has so many Vw's. The beige Caddy on teal wheels is his sons.

That seems like it was a nice show. I would have loved to have gone.

I remember these from back in the day. Who would have thought that a decade later they would still be cool.



I don't mean to thread jack, but I was following this car yesterday and I took pictures JUST FOR YOU, RAY. I figure you'd be the only one to care about it b/c it's a VW.

Youre right.. Its a Passat.
As much as I hate bags, I walked around it many times. It was really nice.

The white bug at the end was beyond clean. Looked great.
There was many bugs clean as hell.

I was only there for about 2 hrs. Got there at 12ish. The show started at 9am. Im sure a few more cars showed up.
Other than my pics thats all that really caught my eye. I wish there was more watercooled.

The "rat-ified" bus on Cup wheels made me cry like Nancy Kerrigan because it isn't mine. Why oh why do dubs have to be so friggin cool? And such horrible P.O.S.' to own? LOL

 

Thats the fun of it! I've slowed down on my VW shows since getting the Fit, then again I've been going to VW shows for 20 years now, crazy thought.

BTW Ray, I'm coming down to see Mickey and the gang next month, haha!

 

Ive posted pics of it before. Every 2nd Saturday of the month they hold Air-Cooled meets at the Sonics we have our weekly Fit meets.

My father has a Thing/Type-181 (2nd picture) sitting in our garage and I'm riding right now in a MK3 VR6 Jetta and I don't know why I've never liked water cooled VWs, but I do LOVE air cooled ones. Very nice pictures, I like 'em a lot.
