canon 350d. people are giving them away. dont worry about having the NEWEST camera because by the time you get it home, theres going to be a newer body out.

Nikon D40s are great beginner cameras, but it'll be heard to find one new since they are discontinued.

^ Give that site a read. It offers plenty of information and incite on various Nikon and Canon cameras. It also covers the various lens and flash attachments that are available as well as gives tips on getting the "perfect picture".

I have a D5000 w/4 lenses (the 2 that come with it) and a 50mm 1.8 and uh.. another one (beginner). also purchased the SB900 flash and the Gary Fong Diffuser. Now i just have to learn to use it. lol

WHICH LENS do you pros recommend? so far, my pics have been blurry. The pics of my fit are from my canon elph p&s.

any help would be great

I don't think the lens would have much to do with picture being blurry. More or less being steady or having too slow of a shudder speed.

If the D5000 is like the D60 (similar to the D40, just 2 more modes) just turn the scroll to the right to increase shutter speed while you are in a mode such as S, M or some other mode that allows manual shutter speed adjustments.
