2012 Mini Coupe

I like em but I think the price is too high for such a small vehicle. A clubman would be more my style. Or the countryman. I think those can looks pretty Bad A with the orange paint and some black rims. Just my 2 cents.

Being the former owner of an R56, the coupe' is fugly, that roof line, ugggh! There's supposed to be a new MINI coming in a couple years and I really hope they do what Nissan did with the Z car, go backwards and make the car smaller. I think its smart that they've expanded their line a little bit, but the main MINI needs to go back to atleast the size of the R53, if not smaller.
As far as price goes, well, you get what you pay for with all the little extras and quality materials inside, let's face it, the Fit is what it is and the MINI is way above that. I just hope the reliability goes up, I had nothing but problems with mine in 3 years and 62K of ownership.....and miss it everyday, what a blast that car was to drive and steer!

Thing's probably fun as hell to drive, but visually it looks "pieced together" like the roof and rear end were slapped together.
I think Mini should have just designed a different car to get this concept across. Trying to fuse it with the current Mini looks forced, an abomination I guess.
I will reiterate that I bet this thing is fun as hell to drive.

I kinda dig the new MINI Coupe from a visual standpoint. This application of the front clip (which is also found on the Cooper and Clubman) much better suited on the Coupe (and Roadster for that matter) how the "chunkyness" of the front end being able to flow all the way down the car, below its belt line (the chrome strip below the windows), and wrap around the rear haunch of the car. This was compromised on the Cooper and Clubman in my opinion due to the slight reverse rake of the roofline as well as the rear most pillar and hatch.
While on the subject of the roofline, its one of those things that you either love it or hate it. I like the kind of chopped top look that if gives provided that its in a certain color choice. Black of course will do the roof justice, silver or white could work depending on car color or how much you've had to drink before looking at the car. The roof stripes kind of kill the look though.
I took the time to build one to my specs on MINI's configuration site, here's what I've came up with.
There is a rumor on Motoring File if I recall correctly that the Moke is in the concept stage... well that or the BeachComber, I can't remember which though.

It'll be smaller than the Cooper (which is 12 inches smaller than a USDM GD3), Clubman (3 inches smaller), and Countryman (about the same). MINI ditched the back seats in this model and made it strictly a 2 seater if I remember right.

My sister had an Austin American which was a kind of bloated Mini that was supposed to appeal to the US market.. It had a hydro pneumatic suspension that leaked on one side and had to be taken to a dealer to be refilled.. Other than that problem and the automatic transmission it was a nice car.. It had an 1100cc engine I believe.. It would make more sense to me if they would make cars as light and with as small displacement engines as they did back then.. I had a 75 VW Rabbit that I put a larger Weber carburetor and larger diameter pipe on and drove it every morning about 5 miles with the speedometer needle touching the empty mark on the gas gauge.. It was a 1500cc engine and the car was much lighter than a Fit.. My nieces and nephew would rather ride in it than in their mother's Jaguar...

i like it. nice size, and i think the price is right. i'd get the vert version though if i was going to get one. :)
i had a MINI a while ago and it was a fun little car to drive.
i already have a 2seater at the moment and not much extra time to play, so i will pass.

This car is based on Mini convertible chassis. So, it is heavier than the normal mini/s. The roof is supposedly designed to be similar to a baseball hat worn backwards. So, a car designed with Fred Durst in mind. PASS>
