2008 BMW V3, a Fit Copycat?

This concept car looks alot like a Honda Fit doesn't it? It is suppose to be based on the BMW X3 platform with 6 people capacity. We'll know mre specifics if/when it debuts at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show.

What do you think?

The rear looks smaller - not as much cargo room.

If this thing stays true to BMW's rear wheel drive or even awd platform tradition, interior room and gas milage will be shot out the window...which defeats the whole purpose of these class/size vehicles...and who wants front wheel beemers anyway? If they sell this vechicle in US, I would bet it will sell not much better than the now departed 318ti hatchbacks even with the extra two doors...

If anything, something like this would be tested in Canada first. The Mercedes B-class hatchback sells quite decently (see more of them than SMARTS), while having a starting price of $30k CAD. A Fit Sport Auto tops out at $22k CAD

bahhhhhh....well...that just means more competition...and competition is good....maybe that'll put pressure on Honda to slap a K20 motor in there as
an option :-D

They don't look anything like the Golf...which itself is an evolution of the Rabbit, which, i would argue was pre-ceded by the Honda hatchbacks

A lot of the cars in this segment start looking the same, cuz there is only so much you can do with a 4 door hatchback design. :)

I think it looks a LOT like a fit! Slightly different hood configeration, but the windshield, roofline, and side design are almost identical! I would like to see someone good with Photoshop ghost the image of the BMW over the image of the Fit, just to see how close it is.

Come ON now. I know you like your Fit, but that's a bit far fetched....:D

BMW doesn't need to copy anyone.
