I'd agree w/ the Grand Cherokee or Toyota pickup 4wd. Grand Cherokee gets the advantage because it could be used as shelter more effectively. I've worked on a few with 350k miles or so on them and still ran great. Would be my choice.

The Toyota would be my choice. The Cherokee, well you seem to think it's reliable but I've seen transmission failures and cracked head gaskets in friends' cars, neither of which happens to Toyotas generally. CR seems to agree :)
Not saying the Cherokee is a bad car, just that in the event of not being able to take it to the mechanic an old Toyota seems like a better bet, hehe :)
And the Rally Fighter would of course be best but you'd need to actually HAVE a mechanic with you, presumably the one who designed your car since they're each a bit different.
