The Bultaco was the hottest thing going back in the late 60s.. It's been a long time but I can still remember the smell of castor bean oil. A Montessa dealer let me ride a 250cc Impala Sport street bike in 1967. I still haven't seen another like it or forgotten how much I enjoyed the way it felt.

Metrallas are still out there bringing in a few $$$. Parts are easy to get and make a decent small town terror.

Never had a bike but if you are driving in Nevada beginning in October

Running a red light on a motorcycle will be legal starting October in Nevada

Dangerous ?

Nevada authorities will allow motorcyclists, mopeds, cyclists and tri-wheel riders to legally run a red light.
This decision was taken because traffic light sensors do not always detect motorcycles and many times riders have to wait until a car arrives in order to trip the sensor. As a consequence, motorcyclists can wait up to 3-4 minutes instead of the regular one-minute wait at the red light. This will change starting October 1 as riders will be able to run a red light as long as they have waited a minimum of two light cycles.
Although the Nevada police isn't against this new law, they acknowledge it will be quite difficult to enforce the two red light-cycle law. In other words, it will be quite hard for the police officers to observe a violation and give a ticket. If the person in question will disagree with the penalty, he will have the possibility of taking the case to a court. The Nevada Highway Patrol admits it will be tricky to prove a motorist didn't wait two light cycles before entering the intersection while on a red light.

I remember an article in a motorcycle magazine about a cop in San Francisco who was using a Metralla to chase down a ring of motorcycle thieves. He was very successful..

A similar law already applies in Illinois. Instead of two light cycles, it's 120 seconds.

What happens when the lights don't cycle at all? I mean, in order for the lights to cycle, something has to trigger them (unless they're timed, at which point it wouldn't be an issue). What if there's no other cars around to trigger ANY lane or direction? None of the lights change. How would you count a "cycle?" By estimating the time it "would've" taken?

Either way, it's a PITA. I usually make a mental note of which intersections don't sense me on my Ruckus, and avoid them altogether. Faster than waiting two minutes without additional risk of getting a moving violation.

Here are the only two I have any photos of.

My first and last Harley LOL. Bought it as a wreck with non-running engine etc for $500.00 and did the whole restoration and customization myself including the paint.

It got many thumbs up but after a day of riding my body was still vibrating like I had ridden around in a cement mixer.

Last of the 900 cc and front drum brake sportsters and it was kick start only.

I moved onto this rocket of it's time KZ1000. It was a very fast bike and another basket case that I bought and restored during the winter months in my basement.

I even drilled the rotor myself LOL. Tough job because it's hardened steel.
