With 220 HP Fiat Coupe-sourced engine

Bulgarian tuner Kokonja has decided to conduct work on a rather long-forgotten car, the Trabant.
Produced by a former automaker from East Germany, the Trabant was powered by a tiny two-cylinder, two-stroke 600cc engine developing a modest 26 HP (19 kW). It needed an agonizing 21 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and was able to reach a top speed of only 70 mph (112 km/h).
The car has made a return in an "RS" version developed by Kokonja. The stock engine was removed to make room for a 220 HP (162 kW) motor borrowed from the Fiat Coupe. The standard Trabant tipped the scales at just 600 kg (1,322 lbs) but this heavily modified variant should be considerably fatter due to the added bells and whistles.
Aside from the engine transplant, it also boasts a Brembo braking kit and an entirely reworked suspension. The cheap interior cabin of the standard Trabant has been beautified with Recaro seats featuring black leather with blue stitching representing a huge improvement in terms of looks and quality.
