2015 Ford Mustang leaked, promises to weigh 200 lbs less

Debuts tomorrow

Following yesterday's leak, TIME Magazine has published a handful of new photos of the 2015 Ford Mustang.
Set to be introduced tomorrow, the model has an evolutionary design which manages to look modern while still keeping the Mustang DNA intact. While some fans have criticized the slender headlights, the high-resolution photos show the car will be quite the looker as it features a bold front fascia and a fastback roof.
The cabin has also been improved with higher quality materials and new switchgear. Notable highlights include a three-spoke steering wheel, metallic accents and an optional MyFord Touch infotainment system.
Detailed performance specifications will be announced tomorrow but the model is expected to be offered with three different engines including a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, a 3.7-liter V6 and a 5.0-liter V8 with roughly 420 bhp (313 kW).

Debuts on December 5th

The 2015 Ford Mustang isn't slated to be unveiled until December 5th but the first pictures have hit the web a little early thanks to an upcoming issue of AutoWeek.
Looking remarkably close to previous renders, the 2015 Mustang has an evolutionary front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by slender headlights which appear to have integrated LED daytime running lights. The new 'Stang has also been equipped with a front splitter, aerodynamic side skirts and a bulging hood.
The sporty styling carries over to the sides as the Mustang has been given muscular fenders and a more dramatic roofline. We can also see a new greenhouse which eschews the blocky B-pillar that was used on the outgoing model.
Lastly, the rear end has a bold design with distinctive taillights that are separated by a contrasting black panel. The model also has a rear diffuser and a dual exhaust system.
We can't exactly make out the text but the article states the 2015 Mustang weighs 200 lbs (90.7 to kg) less than its predecessor.
Unfortunately, there's no word on engines either but choices are expected to include a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 275-310 bhp (205-231 kW), a 3.7-liter V6 with 305 bhp (227 kW) and a 5.0-liter V8 that develops 420 bhp (313 kW).

that front grill looks like a MINI. the shape is odd cause the bottom half is rectanular but you got a bubble round roof. and that big plastic looking rear bumper.

at least it's got power.

I like it and looks like a lot of the renderings were wrong. They all seemed to get the headlights right but thats about it.I'm glad they went with the retro tails again

because that reminds me of my Favorite of all time the 1964 1/2 :)
that was a great year heck that's the year I was born lol

i saw the vert version on cnn. the vert looked pretty good mainly because the bubbly roof of the coupe wasn't there.

2015 Ford Mustang has a burnout control electronic system - report

Ingenious

The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang is allegedly equipped with an electronic burnout control system.
The new pony car has created a lot of buzz around the automotive media and it seems Ford has an ace up its sleeve for the sixth-gen Mustang which will reportedly have some sort of electronic aid to do burnouts. According to Motor Authority, the system will enable drivers to "execute the perfect, smoky, epic burnout" and can be characterized as the equivalent of a launch control for burnouts.
Exact details about how this system works are not known at this moment but MT believes it could enable a line lock on the front brakes while at the same time turning off the traction control system to reach the suitable engine speed in order to release the clutch which would allow for a burnout procedure.
Many will believe using electronic aids to perform a burnout will take away most of the fun and we certainly can't blame them for that. Chances are this burnout control system can be disabled so drivers will have the possibility to perform burnouts the old fashioned way.
