I ca't wait to see and touch one...If this is a Fit on steroids, I may go for it....
|
Carscoops post pictures of the Chinese version of the HRV: "Honda Debuts New XR-V Made In and For China". They called it the XR-V (I don't understand why changing one letter may achieve better sales...). I like the tail better than the HR-V. I am not sure about the front, may be too busy.

for reference: the weight/power ratio of the FIT is 22lbs/hp with an Auto.
The Encore is 24, the Crosstrek is 20, the CR-V is 19. 2015 Honda Fit - Specifications - Official Site The HR-V (Vezel) weights 2780 lb, with the 130 hp engine it would be 21.4 lb/hp. It is likely that the HR-V will have the 1.8 l of the Civic as an option. This would give it 19.5 lb/hp. In this case, HR-V, Fit, CR-V and Civic would all have about 19.5 lb/hp. It seems to be a consistent Honda design for NA. |

I've got a Prius C! Love it. But the car does not have enough practical space and of course hybrids are not as fun to drive, so adding a 2015 fit to my lineup!

Yes, you and I are basically at different ends of the elevation spectrum in the U.S.! I often drive relatives up Mt. Evans which is over 14,000 feet so I will try it in the Fit! Admittedly, though, I have seen 20 year old minivans parked up there ;)

But the reality is that the parasitic drag from driving the A/C compressor uses engine power, and that means more fuel burned. How hard the compressor works is dictated by how hot it might be outside and how bright the sun is shining. So in a worst case scenario, constant use of A/C on a Prius might theoretically drop your fuel economy from say 50MPG to 40MPG. And you say, well that was a big loss in fuel economy. But that is the exact same amount of additional fuel used as another car that gets 20MPG dropping to 18.2MPG or a car that gets 30MPG dropping to 26MPG. So it is only a relative increase, not an increase unique to a Prius. |

Seriously, 2010 Gen III Prius, AC on all the time in summer ... on in the winter for quick defrost only ... Year-round 42mpg +/– ... maybe a little better in the summer than in the winter, with the winter-formulated gas, extended warm-ups, etc. |
Engines were specified in the China debut. 1.5L and 1.8L yay!!! Upscale Honda Fit with 1.8L
