Would you do it?

I'm thinking of trading in my infiniti G35 coupe for a honda fit. I'm paying almost $500 a month for the g35 but if I got a fit it would be roughly around $350. Almost MPG on the g35 is not so great but is really fun to drive. So would you downgrade to a fit or just keep the G35. Thanks

Keep it

You should do what i'm doing.

Ordered Honda Fit to drive to work/school/grocery/sams/BJs.

Keeping G for the weekends, and some weeknights if dinning out.

It's that simple.

If Infiniti's were Nissans they would be branded Nissans.

Ah oh, here we go again.

Look loser, you can chant all day about how Nissan owns Infiniti, but the real truth is this: Nissan and Infiniti are two very different companies. They make very different products.

Nissan and Honda make really good cars, and those cars are really good for what they are built for, but the truth is Infiniti makes cars which are 'light years' ahead of Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and Mazda, in terms of performance, comfort, luxury, reliability, and luxury. Why do you think those luxury brand cars cost more? It's because they are 'better'.

The same is true for the other luxury name brands. Acura is the luxury brand for Honda. That doesn't mean Acura 'is' a Honda. If it was, it would be branded a 'Honda', but it's not. It's an Acura. And no matter how you word it Acura is Acura, not Honda. Infiniti is Infiniti, not Nissan.

Just because you live in your parents basement and cannot afford a 'real' car doesnt mean you should run around bashing other peoples cars.

Oh, and one last little bit, OUTLAWHONDA, no matter what you say, I'm sure you would'nt like it if someone came up to you and asked how your Chrysler was holding up.

Hmmm... why are you getting so defensive? Acura is Honda, Nissan is Infiniti, and Lexus is Toyota. If they are so different, why do so many of them share the same chassis, engine, or other components, like your precious G35. Stop trying to defend your car, I'm sure I'm not the first to tell you that.

BTW Did you think cars are only sold in America? In Canada, some Civic are sold under Acura, In Japan Lexus are sold under Toyota(or used to at least). I realize the auto manufacture operate independently in different parts of the world but don forget they share the same technology. Honda's VTEC is no different than Acura's.

im going from a wrx to a fit, why, because the monthly payments are lower, the insurance is lower, and i am willing to make that sacrifice in power.

if you aren't using the car for what it can do, maybe the Fit fits you better.

i have to disagree with that statement, having owned hondas, acuras, nissans, and an inifiniti G35...my opinion is that inifiniti has been making crap cars as compared to acura for years until they released the G35 and subsequent models (so that makes it about 3.5 years?). even now, the g35 has something very nissan-ish about it. timemachine has it 100% right...infiniti is just a way that nissan (as well as the other japanese luxury brands in america e.g. acura nsx is the honda nsx in japan) can sell similar platform vehicles for thousands of dollars more. infiniti light years ahead of nissan? i have to disagree again. ATESSA all wheel drive, as marketed as a "new" ($$$) all wheel drive technology on the newer model infiniti's, has in fact been around for over a decade now on nissan skyline gt-r's. and so has the "new" all wheel steering system. And speaking of GT-R's, the next generation will be released under nissan, not infiniti.
Back to the thread...if i could continue to afford the G35, yes, i would keep it. there are just more creature comforts and more of a "wow" factor of a clean G35 coupe IMHO as compared to a vehicle that ismore than half its cost. But lifestyles and demands change, and it was not the practical car for my intents and purposes at this time. do i miss the G? hell freakin yes! will i hate the fit? hell freakin no! good luck with your decision!

Yup, Inifiniti is Nissan, pure and simple. Q45=JDM Nissan Cima, M series=JDM Nissan Fuga, G series=JDM Nissan Skyline; only the FX and QX have no JDM counterparts, and even then the QX is just a dressed-up Nissan Armada.

BTW, price, status, and what one can pay do not make a 'real' car, nor make you better than anyone else. There are many people here with cheaper cars better than yours and who've shown more class than you have.
