TW: FS in NY: 2012 Honda Fit Base (Konig Helium wheels, brand new Bilstein B14 coilovers)
FS in NY: 2012 Honda Fit Base (Konig Helium wheels, brand new Bilstein B14 coilovers)
The basics:
-136,000 almost entirely New Hampshire highway miles, I got this car as 2nd owner at 134,500 miles.
-I replaced the original steel wheels with a set of lightweight aftermarket Konig Helium wheels for a reduction in unsprung and rotational weight of 7.5 lbs. This means slightly better acceleration and braking and reduced load on the suspension system. I still have the steel wheels with hubcaps if you want them.
-All potential buyers will get a free Carfax report
-Clean NY title, with one (1) key
NOTE: I am the second owner. This car is in near perfect condition EXCEPT for the rear driver's side wheel well which got swiped only very recently while this car was parked, please see pic. I recently bought (June 2021) and installed (August 2021) a Bilstein B14 height-adjustable coilover suspension (new Bilstein coil springs + new Bilstein shock absorbers.) This upgrade improves both the handling and ride and address the shortcomings of the stock Honda Fit suspension (such as excessive body roll, very floaty ride, side to side front to back pitching and swaying movements.) I don't expect to recover all the money I spent on upgrades, but I do want to recover SOME of it. My initial plan was to keep this car as my forever daily driver, I didn't spend all this time and money upgrading the car for the enjoyment of the next buyer but I find some things really annoying on the Fit: the uncomfortable seats, it's underpowered nature, and little things like the driver's front door takes more effort to open than my 2007 Corolla.
You can read about my journey with this car at: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/sear...;starteronly=1
All statements made in this ad can be proved with documentation such as Carfax and receipts (in the case of the wheels and Bilstein suspension, just look at the parts on the car.)
More details:
-Everything on this car works with exceptions: the rear window wiper motor needs to be replaced (I did not bother fixing this as I do not use the rear wipers at all.)
-This car has 26 service records reported to Carfax but service work done by myself will not show on Carfax.
-There is a recall on all 2007 to 2013 Honda Fit (please plug my VIN number here for details: https://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls )
-Buyer gets accessories and maintenance parts I stocked up for the car: oil filters, wiper refills, air filters, and cabin filters. I won't need them anymore.
Price is: 6900. If you believe I have overpriced this car, I'm willing to listen but I think I have priced it right.
PS: I am selling the TEIN Street Basis coilovers that I had on this car for less than 500 miles. If you would prefer the TEINs over the Bilsteins, I can lower the price further and sell the Bilsteins separately.
PPS:
Oh yes, I'll add a few other tidbits: the tires are 175/65R15's Sumitomo P02. The previous owner had it mounted 08/2020, since they were so new I decided to keep them at least a little while before going wider.
The battery is 11/2020.
Since I got the car, I replaced the windshield wiper arms, with new OEM inserts.
I did an oil change with SuperTech 0W20 and drained and refilled the transmission several times with Honda ATF.
