FS: My 2008 VBP Fit Sport w/low miles
FS: My 2008 VBP Fit Sport w/low miles
Hi guys,
I fell in love with another car and therefore the Fit has to go.
Here are the facts:
2008 Fit Sport model with 5-speed stickshift
9000 Miles on it (mainly highway, some city and interstate driving and a few longer trips)
Vivid Blue Pearl
Great condition - never raced it and hardly shifted over 3000 rpm
I'm getting 36-39 mpg constantly over the last year!!
I bought the car brand new last January, I'm the first owner. I never did anything to the engine or suspension and always treated him good
Mods and accessories:
-Window tint (15% if I remember right) from B-pillar to the back
-interior trim kit in Blue (same color as the outside), that includes the piece over the gauges and around ALL the window switches
-ASpec axleback exhaust, was on the car for about 2000 Miles (just bought it from a vendor here) Will include stock exhaust, too.
-carpet floor mats
-trunk tray (that thing is more than 100 bucks!!)
-I also have an aluminum shift knob that's never been on the car and is still in the box.
Let me think..that's about it I guess
I'm asking $15.500 rehoming fee
and I'm awaiting your offers and questions
I'm located in South Carolina, in the Greenville area. Hope someone gives my little Fit a good new home!
Here's a link with a ton of pictures.

I'd love to have a second Fit and yours is one I'd like to have, however, no one pays for mods so you have to discount them out of the price. Also, your car is a year old, albeit with low miles, and now a generation behind and you're asking sticker. You have a nice car I just think you're asking too much.
BTW, love Greenville, SC - I lived there four years.

15,500 is not quite sticker - and I might be willing to negotiate ;-).
Used Fits are hard to come by, and I thought this was a good starting point.
Thanks though!

Its hard to sell a fit right now. I don't know why but so many of us have tryed including myslef. But i would say good price for a good fit love the color. Some times i whish i would have just bought a good used one like this i just bought mine in Aug for 18,300 OTD in CA. Now it has 14,000 miles i like to travel and do long trips in it. But im keeping her now its just such a fun car and cheap to keep GL though with the SALE
Put the stock parts back on, sell the aftermarket stuff separately on here or ebay, then sell the car as 100% stock. Try posting up on craigslist too. I don't think $15.5 is too much, considering Carmax will probably buy your car for that much or even more. Good luck!
Thanks guys..car is already on Craigslist and vehix, and Carmax sucks - they offered way less than I owe
NBPTurtle, I was looking at an 09 Subaru Outback, my hubby drives an Impreza WRX STI and I like it! Also the dog needs more room and I want heated seats.
The only non-stock part is the exhaust - you think I should switch it back to stock?

Yep, I already had it appraised by 2 Subaru Dealers and they said it's not a good market right now.
I'm a little pi$$ed 'cause at the beginning everybody tells me how great Hondas are and how good they hold their value, and here I have a car I can't even sell for what I owe. That's sad.
But maybe a Fit freak comes up and wants exactly that car
And if not, I'll drive it and try again in a few months. Doesn't hurt me

How much did you pay for yours when you bought it? If it was sticker or more your immediate depreciation will be higher. Did you get a high financing rate or finance over 4 or more years? This will cause you to owe more than the car's worth on the front end of the contract.
An even bigger factor, even if you paid cash for your car, is that the Fit is a small economical car and will have limited appeal in a market where fuel is cheap as it is now. Many more of these cars were sold in 08 when gas was $3-$4/gal so now the market is flooded with Fits that nobody needs for mileage. If gas goes above $2.50/gal your Fit will have more market appeal.
So while it's personally "sad" that you can't get what you owe for the car, your situation is more a matter of economics and similarly most people don't try to understand this prior to making a purchase decision.
By the way, I have an 07 STI as well and if you think the Fit depreciates fast wait'll you try to get out of your Subaru.
08fithappy, thanks
Fit_Dr, that's the thing - I didn't pay a lot over sticker back then. I also financed over 48 months. Of course, our rate was not so great because we just moved to the US and had no credit history, we had 8.X% at the beginning and 7.X now after refinancing.
Well, people just don't understand that gas is not gonna stay around $1,50/gal.
But I decided to wait and try to find a buyer, if I can't, I'll keep driving my Fit.
Oh, and the Subaru we'll take back to Germany in 2010, and since the Subarus there cost double the money we hope we can sell it pretty good if necessary. But I like that car
