Honda then & now.....

A pretty good video review by Chris Harris.

Long ago I had a had a 92 Honda Si hatch. Nice lively car, but could have used another 50 horses. I almost bought a new EP3 Si, but ended up with my MINI. The MINI was a great car, but I'm sure more money would have stayed in my pocket had I bought the EP3. The new Type R, neat car mechanically, but oh what an ugly thing.

Great video link! Thank you. The host makes a very good point when he asks who the Type R is aimed at. The exterior beckons 18-24 Year olds, yet the $35K price tag isn't normally attainable by that age group.

That '92 SI is still a fine looking car!

"young people lacking taste" LOL'ed

wat honda needs to do is give the alacarte individual setting for the drive modes, go easier on the exterior.. and while the review stated its FWD is enough grip, im very skeptical in real world setting in colder wet weather with that much torque.

the price comfortably falls where i can buy the car cash (as 2nd or 3rd car) with change to spare for winter wheel set, light mods. but even i with the bigarse wing STI think the civic-R's shape is crazy and its fwd is just not going to play nice where im at in the colder months. and it not being rwd, completely defeats the purpose of hibernating the car in cold weather.

ill have to find someone that will let me wring it out if i was to seriously consider buying one.
ive always been a honda fan but the last decade they really turned me off.. and now its like too late. where is the next gen S2000 anyway?

Great question. I still see these on the highway and they always turn my head. Yes, it's a shame that Honda lost its way in producing enthusiast-oriented cars. Same thing with the Toyota brand I suppose, though I see that they have an "86" model that I'm guessing is their jointly produced car with Subaru. Maybe it's my age, but when I hear 86, I think of Don Adams.

haha! :D

yah, the FRS/86 and BRZ were like a fad.. reviews boasted how great they were for like a yr or two but then forgotten.. they are just too damn slow to be a sports car.
