the one thing i freaking HATE about fitfreak.net

why do we have to wait 30 seconds between searches? even when the search comes up with nothing. thats probably why noobs post topics that have already been covered. because its easier to post a new thread than it is to quickly find a thread. makes me really angry sometimes. anyone else get mad over this??  :(

Yeah..Im not going to lie that does get annoying sometimes.

I don't know but I'd guess it is so that bots can't flood the forum with search requests that would drag down the server. A kind of DOS attack. Maybe someone more knowledgeable with this forum software will chime in.

I cut the time to 10 seconds. The idea is that it is supposed to help minimize
resource load on the forum. If we don't see any issues then I can lower it further.

id be happy with keeping it at ten seconds. i do like the fact that no bots post in these forums and if it means a ten second wait between searches, so be it. but 30 seconds seems excessive.

kelsodeez 02-28-2008 12:52 AM

i think my main frustration with it is when i am searching for something, and nothing comes up, i still have to wait to search again

Wow thats great. I too was annoyed by the 30 second rule. Thanks Robwahoo for adjusting it for us.

doctordoom 02-28-2008 03:48 AM

wow cool 10 seconds! i was always annoyed when i had to wait 30 seconds, it felt like forever. but other than being annoyed, the wait wasn't all that bad haha.
