the one thing i freaking HATE about fitfreak.net

why do we have to wait 30 seconds between searches? even when the search comes up with nothing. thats probably why noobs post topics that have already been covered. because its easier to post a new thread than it is to quickly find a thread. makes me really angry sometimes. anyone else get mad over this??

I don't know but I'd guess it is so that bots can't flood the forum with search requests that would drag down the server. A kind of DOS attack. Maybe someone more knowledgeable with this forum software will chime in.

I cut the time to 10 seconds. The idea is that it is supposed to help minimize
resource load on the forum. If we don't see any issues then I can lower it further.

id be happy with keeping it at ten seconds. i do like the fact that no bots post in these forums and if it means a ten second wait between searches, so be it. but 30 seconds seems excessive.

robwahoo, gave you a +rep too ! (not that you really need it! HAHAHAAA...MR. 10 reps!) For doing what you normaly do, and for helping out with a problem that makes this site even better. (now only if we didnt even have delay, but I do not know these technical things you all speak of so if its to protect us then I am ok with it)
