I feel an irresistible urge to (temporarily) grab those "last word" points.
Seriously, without further clarification this whole business seems silly to me. I understand that it is somehow supposed to drive more site traffic and activity but I find it more annoying than motivating.

Hey lost - how's everything? I got me one of those Pie Fixes Everything t's. Just put it on and those graphs are looking like chocolate cream LOL

The one thing I can imagine is everyone is going to forget reps, so for my part you get a +rep for living in Waldoboro and liking pie ;-)

Unofficial Honda FIT Forums - Announcements in Forum : Site Feedback and Suggestions

We tried to explain the process as much as we could in the above thread.

We are taking notes on everyone's constructive suggestions. Please continue to be patient with us as we fine tune the entire process.

Thank you, again for choosing to be a part of the best Honda Fit forum around!

Whoa, Sid answers

Would be great if you could address some of the questions brought up on this thread or have a revised instruction page, specifically:

- you have a pull down explaining how points are calculated but not the criteria for them ie.
(1) points for infraction - what constitutes an infraction?
(2) points taken away - how? why?
(3) and others mentioned on the thread...

Not that the points are critical or why people go to this forum but would definitely make me appreciate what all those numbers/bars mean, if I understand them. Either way, I'll still be on this forum. There's some great Fit Freaks here with good info...

Thanks...

They all seem to like hiding behind the curtain - not even a list of admin/moderators.
Most unusual forum IMHO.

Well, like I said once..I got all the way up 99% on three separate occasions only to hop on here the next day and discover that my numbers had plummeted precipitously..Dayum, I wish I were a college level mathematician and maybe I could come up with some kind of analyses with these mysterious numbers and graphs and maybe come to some plausible conclusion.
I give-up already!

What "they/it" gives, "they/it" takes away! Go to your Profile and click on your Activities. You'll see a bunch of +/- Go figure.

I suggest we have it like grade school
and award lower levels of stars like silver, blue & red
I rarely won a gold star back then, but got my share of blue and silver

When you decide upon a software package for running an internet forum, what is supplied and delivered --by default-- right out of the box is fairly basic. The package does come with a huge manual that describes in great detail the hundreds of features that you can choose to turn on--or just leave alone if you wish to. I have been on many forums in which the owner chose to just leave the software package alone---and the forum ran just fine, the search engine worked well, the users were happy, and (most importantly) information about the subject of the forum was passed easily and found easily.

And then... you have the forum operator that never saw a button he didn't itch to press, a feature he did not want to try out, and a complication he could not wait to foist upon his users. When you combine all of that with the fact that the user base of that forum is made up largely of that segment of society which is completely entertained by reading the J. C. Whitney Catalog and envisioning how each of the gadgets listed there can be installed into their latest ride... well, there you have the perfect storm: a forum owner and a group of users that most certainly deserve each other.
