This would be great with a better GE haha. I hate the Mugen kit so much.

And my hatred for Mugen XJ's makes that hatred look more like love.

 

I'm not a very active member, but I thought I'd throw my hat in.

I know most members want to see their models represented (I actually drive a second gen), but it just doesn't make design-sense. It's really difficult to show three different cars in such a tight composition. Especially when you keep in mind that the real purpose of the banner is to communicate the name and tagline of the website. It's already difficult-enough to give the site name more emphasis than the ads the right (nothing against ads), without letting the banner breathe a little.

The best way to get all three models on such a small banner would be to take a photo of the three cars together. When you start cutting and pasting different cars into one image, perspective and scale is a nightmare.

I do think that the old "Fit" logo is a reference to the first-gen that any older Fit owner would recognize.

Please, no more pics of the GKs rear. Really looks awful in the banner. The GK front looks cooler.

A few positive comments on the banner above:
-I like the idea of the fit dot embedded in the name but I'd embed it less. Maybe one third rather than exactly half way.
-I'd like to see the H on the fron grille
-I think the car would look nicer if we could see the wheel spokes as if the car was stopped rather than blurred.

BTW, do we have to have the word FREAK in the name?
I would prefer something more mature, neutral, normal: e.g. HondaFitForums.net
or just FitForums.net

But I guess it's not so easy to change the domain name and all the links associated with it over the years. Still, I never liked to be called Freak. Anyone considers themselves Freaks?

 

Freak is a person who is bizzare but is in a good physical shape (fit freak)?

 

We won't be changing the forum name but I do like your design lol. We of course need the forum name in the banner, that's the whole point in having a banner

Please make sure to have all 3 generations represented in your designs, we want to be inclusive

 

I love the name Fit Freak-- problem with the last banner is the same as the existing one-- only one gen is represented.

I would also like to add you guys actual logo to it unless you want to redo the logo in which case i would be glad to help you out.

Well when I searched for images I used this forum for my years to find the fits. This forum lists 1st gen as 01-08. 2nd gen as 08-13. And 3rd gen as 2015 +.....so that's what I have there. 05 is yellow. 09 is blue. Orange is 15. So unless they were labeled wrong (totally possible) it's all 3 gens according to this forum. But the cars can be changed out. It's not a problem to find other images of the cars to fit in the banner. The main thing is if they like the layout and design of it. Pictures can be changed in no time.

 

I do like that layout. It is by far the best option posted thus far.

However, that yellow car is most certainly a GE (2nd gen).

I also just simply dislike the blue GE in that photo.

 

As far as colors of the different models, I would love to see these in the banner

GD in Blackberry Pearl or Blue Sensation Pearl
GE in Orangeburst Metallic
GK in Mystic Yellow Pearl

It was probably labeled as something else. And the colors can all be changed as well.

But like I said all the cars can be changed out no problem.

If they like the layout I can work with finding other cars to place in the design.
