After a week, no response from Tanabe either through email or this forum - just thought everyone would like to know.

We apologize for the lack of response. We've been very busy and are currently understaffed, looking for new hires.

Regarding the spiral wrap;
Not all springs come with the spiral wrap. I personally checked right now and the GF210s for the Honda Fit do not need the spiral wrap. They should of been replaced with the black tube wrap that is already pre-installed on the spring. The instructions for the spiral wrap is included with all Tanabe springs because it is still used on various other springs. It does not mean that the spiral wrap is need or included.

I will post some pictures once I have them installed.

Cheers!

Update (06-09-07): Sorry, no pics yet, still waiting for them to come in

Update (07-04-07): *sniff sniff* still waiting on them to come in

Update (07-21-07): *sigh* Still waiting for them to come in...

Update (07-26-07): Good News, they might finally be in... cross fingers for upcoming Friday!
Update (07-27-07): They Are finally in... OMG that took forever!! Pics to follow next week

Final Update for this post (07-31-07): Installation went ok, no major issues yet. Some rubbing on the inner fender on the front, to be expected with the aftermarket tires I am currently running. Going to have the front fenders rolled to give a little more clearance and it should be good to go. Will be posting a review next week sometime when I get a chance to really push the car through some twisties (oh disclaimer for the moderators... at a safe posted legal speed). Initial driving impressions are looking good, totally gets rid of the roll in off-ramps and holds like glue now in hard corners. The only negative comment I have is ride is more bouncy than I expected, feels like I am lanching off jumps when I go through contruction zones.
i currently have 17x7 rims as well, and i was wondering whether there is any rubbing issues when ppl are riding in the back...also what does it mean to roll the front fenders? and how would u do so?

Hi Jeimusu86,
I am swaping out my tires to try to fix my problem. I started up a thread here https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...xperience.html detailing the problem and how I am going about finding a solution.

I am running 17x7 w/ +45 offset. No problems in the rear (tested up to 600lbs cargo) but I have all kinds of rubbing issues in the front. I will be doing a review once I install the new tires.

As far as rolling the fenders go, the shop I took it to didn't think it was a good idea. They suggested I get Fiberglass fenders and use a heat gun instead becasue they felt it couldn't be done nicely on the metal ones (I assume because they don't have specific tools). I have seen some tools floating around the FitFreak site that attach to the wheel nuts and use a fixed point to roll. Both of those options are kind of a last resort if my new tires don't fix the problem.

Here is a picture showing the physical difference between the theoretical sizes of tires. I believe my current tires are about 7mm (or 1/4") wider than they should (so 1/4" wider on each side than shown below) be so I should be gaining about 1/2" extra clearance with the 195's.

Yeah that is the tool, I am pretty sure if my tires still rub after changing them out I will ordering one of those from Tirerack! Would love to get some adjustable coil overs, but that is out of my budget for the moment.

Well looks like I won't be doing my review until at least next weekend, my tires got hung up somewhere in Nevada all this week So much for 48 hour delivery!

Great news, the new 195's have totally cured any and all rubbing issues, I can't get it to rub if I try.

My Brief Review (Finally):
I have had the Tanabe springs in for a couple of weeks now, it took a quite a while to get them in through our local Tanabe dealer (mainly on the part of the shop).
I choose the Tanabe springs for three main reasons; the progressive spring rates, the least amount of drop currently offered (less than 1" in the rear) and Tanabe's good reputation in performance and quality. I have to say I have not been disappointed in any of those areas.
These springs deliver a great ride and have increased my Fit's handeling imensely without taking away from my everyday drivability. I would say that the ride is noticably more stiffer, but far from the jaring feeling of a full suspension coil over set. Everybody who has driven with me has been impressed with the reduced body roll around tight quick corners. A great buy and Fit upgrade IMO.

The only area I had trouble was trying to resolve my rubbing issues with my 17" rims (+45). Instead of changing to a different brand of tire and hoping for the best, I sourced some off-spec tires (195/40R17) which have worked out exceptionally well. Dosn't matter if I load the vehical up and hit speed bumps it won't rub anymore. If you want to run 17's with these springs I know you can try running 205's from Falken's or BF-goodrich tires which are apparently a better fit to avoid rubbing, but switching out to the 195's is also a great alternative (plus the only three brands which offer this size are ultra premium so you end up with a beauty set of performance tires).

Thanks Tanabe, great product!

Calling all GF210 owners; Has anybody had these springs in more than 20,000Km (12,000 Miles) with stock shocks.

Mine have been in for about 15,000km so far and they are feeling softer this year but still providing good performance over the stock setup overall. Wondering how much longer the stock shocks should be expected to last with lowered springs.

Got mines installed but only for em........3,000 miles so far. I love the drop it gives because its not to much but still noticeable. Lmao I didn't know how low it would be and its really not that much but I still scrapped it like twice on the same day i JUST installed them haha

Bouncy ride and all but its ok with me. I got it working with the progress RSB and to me its a perfect combo. I will only get a coilover set up later after my shocks blow and I sell my RSB. Install was straight forward (except for the axle pop out) That took 45 minutes of just wiggling back and forth and a little help from a friend rotating the steering wheel.

lol, the axle pop out even gets the best of us Good deal, how are you liking the ride. I found it a bit rough at first but I fell in love with it in no time!

so far the ride is smooth for me. I dont have a problem with them. Still got to get an alignment lol i've been trying to find a reputable shop around my area and I JUST found one so I have to make an appointment to get it done. I checked my tires and after the drop my tires from the inside are eating up like crazy. I have to fix that toe in toe out thingy.
