What Rims are you guys going to carry for the Fit?

Just wonder in what rim sizes and brands you guys are going to carry for the Fit? 4x100 and in the high Honda Offsets?

jim@tirerack 03-28-2006 03:16 PM

Unfortunately we have not had a car here to test fit. As soon as I do I will post the options.

JAGmd 03-28-2006 03:41 PM

Jim,

Thanks for the reply. I can't speak for everyone but I think a bunch of people are interested in 15" & 16" rims while a few members want larger 17" and 18" options.

I think 16's are the way to go if you live in an area that has decent roads.

SABAFIT 04-07-2006 01:39 PM

I think 16" is the way to go for Fit. Keep us updated on what tirerack have to offer for the Fit.

jim@tirerack 04-18-2006 04:03 PM

We just need a car in here to test fit.

Disco_J 04-25-2006 10:15 PM

Update please!

jim@tirerack 04-26-2006 09:46 AM

Somebody drive a car in here. Please

dougiepants 04-27-2006 12:07 AM

If i drive down there and get test fitted, will i get free wheel/tire package?;)

milkylog 04-27-2006 09:00 PM

Come on! A Big company like Tirerack should be able to afford a FIT to do some fitment! The small vendors on this forum already bought FITs!

All of the wheels are now up and on the site. If I can help you can give me a call or email.

hatchgeek 05-12-2006 07:53 PM

I'm a totally wheel rookie, sorry guys. But what does 14x6.5 mean? I figured out that the Fit is 4x100, but I saw a listing for some rims for sale that said 14x6.5. Would these fit the Fit? Specifically, would they fit the tires I have for the base model?

aziatiklover 05-12-2006 08:03 PM

17" work emotion, gramlights or volks

Bill L 05-13-2006 12:16 AM

Hi Hatchgeek,

The "4 x 100" is a bolt pattern of four lugs in a square pattern with a 100 mm diagonal distance. The wheel size for the base Fit steelies is "14 x 5.5" meaning 14" diameter and 5.5" wide (with a +45 mm offset), while the Fit Sport alloys are 15 x 6 (with a +55 mm offset). Check out this website from another thread: http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

On TireRack's website they feature many 14" and 15" wheels that will substitute for the originals.

For tires, the steel wheels come with "175/65 x R14 81S" tires, meaning 175 mm thick with a 65% aspect ratio of height/width, radial tires to fit 14" wheels, with further "81 S" tire characteristics-- check any tire manufacturer's website for defintions. The Honda alloy wheels come with 195/55 x R15 84H tires which are thinner but wider, than for the steelies, and can handle higher speeds & hotter temperatures. Again, many tires can replace the originals-- check with TireRack or your local tire dealer.

Hope this helps,
Bill Lakatos

You can email me or give me a call and I can go over what would best fit your needs. You can also do that on our web site.
Let me know if I can help.

azkikersfit 06-05-2006 06:40 PM

hey dougie
are u using those white advans with the 35 offset? are getting any rubbing issues with and without a lower spring?

gimme 06-07-2006 11:54 PM

I work for Team Dynamics in Ontario, CA. I will be test fitting quite a few of our different wheels with different offsets throughout the week on my personal fit. I will post what I find.

I have a set of Team Dyanimics Pro Race 1 Flat Black 15x7 wheels on my other car and there great wheels. I wouldnt mind getting a set in that same size for my Fit.

gimme 06-07-2006 11:59 PM

I'll fill you in when i find out all that work :D

aziatiklover 06-08-2006 12:00 AM

But being that the Fit is so underpowered, im looking to go with something a bit ligher then even the lightest TD Pro Race wheels which are around 14 lbs. I love the look of the Pro Race wheels though since I love Touring racing of all kind.

In 15" its not hard to find a wheel that works with the Fit, its got a pretty broad range of offsets that will work with it and widths also, anywhere from 6" to 7" so I dont think you'll have a hard time finding a current TD wheel that will work. Anything from a +35 to +42 offset in a 15x6, 15x6.5 or 15x7 is pretty much guaranteed to work with a 195 tire. Anything lower or high then that range of offsets is a cause for concern whether its rubbing the fender or rubbing the fender well.

Lets us know how it goes though and if you could take some pics too that would be great.

thirdtry 06-17-2006 07:57 PM

just got my fit and i want to get some nice rims and tires for it. i was looking at the REACTION RIOT in the 15"x 6.5" in a 4-100 bolt pattern and it seems like that will work fairly well. i was wondering if i went into a 17"x 7" if that would fit comfortably and if i would have to get skinnier rubber for that. and i'm also assuming that if i were to get the 15"x 6.5" rims i would need to get new rubber for that anyways.

thanks to all who reply to this.

jim@tirerack 06-19-2006 08:47 AM

For the 17" you would either run a 205/40R17 or 215/40R17. The 15" would be 195/55R15 or 205/50R15. Both sizes would be fine on the car as long as the wheels have the correct offset.
If I can help let me know.

thirdtry 06-19-2006 11:12 AM

thanks for the help but still a few more questions. I dont really know what offsets mean with tires and all that stuff. so any help in that category would be greatly appreciated. and also where is tire rack and this whole set up located?

jim@tirerack 06-19-2006 11:17 AM

thirdtry 06-20-2006 11:51 AM

that clears things up. is a 40 offset capable of working with the Fit?

jim@tirerack 06-20-2006 12:28 PM

Yes, but you might have to roll the fender lip depending on the specific tire you choose.

thirdtry 06-20-2006 01:14 PM

what about the bfgoodrich g-force sport 205/40ZR17?

LaurenHarston 06-23-2006 09:37 AM

Do you guys offer any rims and tire packages? Id be intrested in buying a package for my fit...

jim@tirerack 06-24-2006 09:51 AM

We do offer the wheels and tires in a package. We mount and balance them at no charge and they would come with all of the needed hardware at no cost. Take a look at the wheels on our web site and give me a call. We can get you into a tire that best fits your needs.

cbrjeeper 09-26-2006 07:46 AM

White wheels

Alright, i'm looking on your site, and, i am not finding any white wheels. Do you carry them? Wife's changed her mind from a black rim to a white rim. If you don't carry em, might you be able to recomend someone to me that does? Thanks in advance.

Tylor

jim@tirerack 09-26-2006 10:08 AM

I do not have anything in white for the car. Sorry
I don't know of any other options. You may get some recommendations for some wheels from the other members.

cbrjeeper 09-26-2006 12:14 PM

Alright, thanks though. My buddy has some on his white RSX, but, they're 17's. Hmm. I'll just have to keep lookin.
