personally im a fan of racing inspired looking cars. rather then seeing big shiney wheels, goofy colors, streched tires, dumb camber, bunch of stickers about how there car is "simply clean"and every other trendy stickers, ohh and bike... just so they have more room for stickers.

i love seeing a car on some sw388's, mugens, volks..etc , nothin but functional parts, perhaps a ding here and a scratch there, just using the car for more than looks. I dont see the guys in the best motoring videos with bbs rs's on some streched ass tire's and terrible camber looking like the back to the future car.I know its a style that people like but they are getting away from having a functional car that you can go beat the shit out of it and have fun instead of a car that just sits there for others to look at. thats why i dont like HF cars, but to each their own.

(wipes sweat off head) i had to get that off my chest

Btw "sw88s" on your car look great just saying cause thoses spoonies look great! Also about the fully function part you are a follower your self! due to the fact oh yeah i slammed my car 2 more inches for the meet!! dont hate if you are doing the samething with out the low offset wheels!!

In no way was that directed to you personally, you took it that way cause your car happens to fit my descriptions as well as a million other cars do. Im not salty at you in any way, what happend in the past was squashed along time ago. but just because my cars low does not mean its not capable of being drivin like it should, cause i go out every weekend and beat the shit out of it, I admit have only been on 1 road course so far cause its very pricey and at the time my car didnt feel to good, now i have j's roll center adjusters, exeddy stage 2 clutch and spoon solid subframe collers. me and my buddys should be going in like 2 months if you would like to join?

but anyways what i was tryn to say is that HF trend is something i dont like, thats what this thread is about, im not goin on your threads telling you what i dont care for on your car and the thousands of others for that matter that are into the HF scene , ya know

Ok just wanted to clear that up due to the fact that i posted the video and what you said discibed my car. Im not taken offense it just sounded like you where talking about my car big simplclean sticker, roofrack and camber my car is drivable the way it is. But thats your opinion i dont consider my car hf. I consider it fitted and the what is part of being simply clean. so really it should be considered a different style not trend. All we are doing is makeing low offset wheels fit flush if not have a little poke. Hellaflush was started in cali we are doing the europen trend whitch for some people that dont know will call it Hellaflush. as danielg said at the begining of the thread theres fitted and Hellaflush.

I'd be pro hellaflush if it shaved lap times >_<

Function > Form

But that doesn't mean your car has to be unattractive or look like a ragged beater.

When I go to replace tires, it isn't because my fenders wore them down, chances are, it because I've roasted them.

Personal quote "Don't make your tires fit your wheels and car, make your wheels fit your tires and car."

i hate Hellaflush and Fatlace and Illest. i do however like tastefully dumped imports/euros/domestics.. BUT there is a difference between "stanced" and "flush" for me.

i hate camber and i hate dangerously stretched tires.

You hate camber? You must hate track cars.

I like the HF trend overall because there are some very tasteful cars. But there are also some not so tasteful. I myself could probably never pull off that look because I wouldn't want to and probably couldn't. I'd rather put my money into other mods rather than paying for tires all the time, especially on a DD.

I am a fan of the slammed look though, with tires tucking. But I'm happy with exactly where my car sits now, lowered without rubbing and wheels flush with the side of the car, but still able to go over speed bumps without killing myself.

Good one JC!!! (I know it's an old post) Ha ha! This one sums it all all up for me. Last quote kinda goes hand in hand with "Let the car show your character and not the car give you character."

I'm just a looker when it comes to these. I can admire the artwork and creativity. Just can't see the practicality in it. My car is meant to be driven. Not a fan of crawling up a driveway at some weird angle either.

I had to do that on a couple of driveways... even with the Fit as stock!

I put my car back to stock height a week ago and my first thought after driving was "wtf was I thinking when I lowered it, all the gains were from tires not springs, only thing being low gave me was slighty better straight line stability and a shitload of rub marks on my bumper." I swear I'm getting better mid corner steering communication from the stock suspension.

I wouldnt exactly say it new or a trend either. Most of the cars that get shown are from the 80's-90's era, with wheels from the 80's-90's era. I know back in the early 90's, right before I got my licence. Alot of people who had import cars german and japanese got alot of there wheels, from the same brands like: BBS, SSR, Work, Rays, Enkei, OZ, Hart, ect,....ect. Most of the wheels that were big in the past have been copied by company's like konig, rota, xxr, drag ect...ect.. My mother had a 86 cressida with bbs rs wheels when I was a kid. Its nothing new. Its a stance thing, which is not new. In the 90's you didnt have all the after market support like you do today, so stance or how you car sat on your wheels was important. I will say some go to hard to try and pull it off, and go to hard trying to say its some trend, fad or fashion statment. The copy cats as usual will ef it up for the originators. I thinks its just alot easyer to do these days since alot of cars now have the 5x114 lug pattern. Most german cars are now 5x112 So now all the old wheels work on the newer cars. There is a small hand full of peeps doing new cars on new wheels

That's because you had POS lowering springs on your car. Anyone who knows WTF they're talking about knows you don't improve handling with lowering springs.

For someone who claims to be such an expert you really don't have a clue on this one.

I don't think I've yet seen Lyon claim he was an expert on anything, let alone suspension. But go ahead and put words in his mouth if it makes you feel better.

You have some issues dude.
