Deers suck- my dash cam vid of me hitting one

Like a bolt of lightening this deer just appears in front of me. No time to stop. I hit it on my drivers side mostly and had no bumper fracture or head light damage. But of course the bumper side joint is askew and needs to be clipped back into place. I swear the shell of these cars are clipped together like plastic models. Hopefully it's a simple fix. Who knows. I'll find out in a couple days.

It happens at about the 50 second mark

The deer phoned in a complaint: "Fits suck!"

... sorry, glad you came through ok, could've been a lot worse if Bambi had been a couple tenths of a second slower...

All my Hondas have been pretty resilient against deer hits.

Glad to know you ok and the car shrugged it off.

Same thing happened to me last week, same spot on the car. The deer decided to do a tumble roll over my roof as well. all together quoted for 4,600 in damages, insurance is taking care of it, just a deductible for me.

You were extremely lucky, by watching this video a tenth of a second would have put it through your windshield. Clips are cheap. I had more damage from a truck tire laying on road, half a tire laying on road sits higher than Fit clearance.

It's a comprehensive claim. No increase for this.

Did you stop your car and retrieve the deer for consumption?

You might as well harvest the meat from it or donate it to a local charity.

That deer popped out so fast, I was looking for it and wouldn't have seen it until it was too late.

That's how it looked to me as well, at the wheel. Looking at the video I can see the deer coming from the right but while driving it's impossible to see. The thing literally appeared in front of me from nowhere.

This one, and it has been excellent-

Wrightwood WS300W DashCam [WS300W] - $99.99 : Wrightwood Surveillance, ACTi, Dahua, Hikvision, Mobotix, Axis

I've posted this recently, but this is a vid I did of how I installed the dash cam. This incident is a good reason to have one, but I wish it didn't happen, that's for sure.

Shockwave watched your daytime recording, saw the deer warning sign, I guess he had right of way

Like your idea of rear cam, driving last week had driver come up fast behind and fly past, cutting me off as he/she weaved back in front of me, any closer and it would have been nice to show as evidence, before getting cited for not having control.

Nice easy installation but where you placed wire from dash to door trim I have a sign that warns of an airbag located behind the plastic.

What looked like nothing is 1,500 in repairs. And that's an estimate. Avoid deers.

Aw man, that sucks to see. But like previously stated, it could have been worst if the dear would have rolled over the car or actually got pegged dead center of the car.

Side note: I don't know why but my mouse managed to click the "thumbs up/down" feature for the video. -.-

Did you go back and finish the job (put it out of its missery)? I hear their back meat is pretty tasty.
