Are the '09 Fit wide body side moldings essentially the same as previous years?

Yes. The moldings are the same for 07/08 and 09.

Rust?

Any concerns that this molding will promote rust?

Also, some evil, evil person opened their door into my 2009 Fit and left a little ding. I think the molding would hide the ding. Any concerns with rust in that case? Would I need to take extra precautions?

The molding is 1-1/4 inch tall so check to make sure it will cover the ding. If the ding has no paint removed, then there are no rust issues. If the paint is chipped, then I suggest fixing that before installing the molding.
