I had talked to a body shop which the owner I personally knew last week.
I told him that I want to cut the 2 leg (left and rear attachment) that attached the Rear Beam to the Chassis of the car.
Make those 2 leg shorter and then weld it back to the beam.
He told me that it can be done but first he had to take a look at my car,
and then he also need to see about the FOAM (absorbing foam) inside those 2 legs... but he is sure it can be done.

Another thing that is important to remember is one of the hanger for the muffler is welded to the Right Leg (and not to the chassis),
so I think it is better to keep this leg (but shortened it) instead of removing it...

Yes, the easier way would be removing those 2 legs and remove the rear beam because they were attached to the chassis via several bolt and not welded...
but that mean if someone hit you from behind, you will have no rear steel bumper to protect you at all...

well of course if our car were hit by a TALL Truck, it will go through the rear hatch door because the tall truck bumper is higher then our rear beam anyway,... still it is better to keep that rear beam in place.

Here is the picture of the car from other fitfreak member who remove his rear bumper.

anyway, once I install this rear bumper on my car, I will let you know more detail about this rear beam modification... but that might be 1 or 2 months away since I had to leave my car at the body shop for at least 3 days to install this bumper, and I will not have free time (need the car everyday) until at least next month...

well, hopefully my "cash flow" after 1 or 2 months would allow me to install more stuff at the body shop in addition to this bumper hahaha

So the beam can actually be removed without cutting? What beam do they use in Japan or is the legs shorter (no pun intended)?

From me "peeking" below the skirt, ups I mean rear bumper,
I see that the leg where bolted and not welded to the chassis, but
I could be wrong since I don't can see the "view" from top side
I do ask my friend to ask whether they have JDM rear beam,
but he said from the drawing/schematic that he saw, he can only see
FRONT bumper beam but no rear beam... probably
the rear beam for JDM were welded or permanent part of the chassis...
I don't know this for sure though, it is just my speculation...

Remember how US bumper regulations ruined the design of 1970s Porsches and so many other cars? Although the U.S. now has integrated bumpers (that defeat the purpose of minimizing costly repairs from "fender benders"), we still have a requirement for butt uglification. In looking at pictures of Honda's upcoming subcompact car, the 2009 Fit, I realized just how much our regulations affect car design. In this particular example, the American version is much longer – especially up at the front, where it seems like there must be an extra two feet ahead of the front wheels. The example should serve to remind all of us of one of the litany of complications that comes with Americanizing a car for sale. And back on the topic of the Fit, the shorter Japanese version looks better.

I'll give a little bit of insight

on our Indonesian/Thai/ASEAN Jazz, we don't have any reinforcement bars on the rear at all, so basically behind our rear bumpers we have a huge empty space for hiding anything you can imagine

I'm not sure about the JDM fit ones, but I believe they are the same, as original JDM GE Fit in here are quite rare

the same thing also applies to our GD Jazz, Toyota Yaris and other cars in the same class

Hello,

I had checked the Part Diagram for the JDM and UK GE model,
and I also could not find any Reinforcement bar for those model too.

But I believe inside the main chassis, at the most rear part of the main chassis, it should have an integrated/built in reinforcement bar for safety purpose, otherwise it would be dangerous...

If/When I took out my USDM bumper in the future, (when I have time to install my JDM rear bumper),
I will checked at my chassis to see if
the rear most part of USDM chassis (where the USDM reinforcement bar attached/bolted too) had some kind of THICKER steel plate which indicate an integrated reinforcement bar installed on the chassis.

If there is, then that mean the other market should have it too because
I think it would cost Honda too much if they have 2 different "MAIN" chassis structure between USDM and the rest of the world...

Also if you have time, please kindly checked your most rear part of your Indonesian GE Chassis, perhaps you can see whether that most rear part have some kind of thicker plate which indicated it already have built in/integrated reinforcement bar...

of course the thicker plate is not bolt on like USDM bar,
but probably welded together or the most rear part or
if not welded then it just had thicker steel plate in that area compare to other chassis part of the car...
if that area have thicker plate in the area, that mean it is the built in/integrated one...

I'll try to look into it as soon as possible, as I am planning to repaint my rear bumper as it have been hit by another motorcycle, again.....

I believe there is a special crash structure surrounding the tailgate, but I still have to look into it to confirm my suspicions though.

No, they don't fit directly,
you got to either remove the Reinforcement Bar behind the USDM bumper (it is bolted to the chassis), or modify the legs (cut and weld it again) of the Reinforcement bar to make it closer to the chassis so the JDM bumper can be fitted behind it.

The USDM bumper is thicker and has extra space behind it for the reinforcement bar (re-bar),
The JDM bumper is much thinner then USDM bumper.
