just got an 09 Sport yesterday

So I ended up buying an 09 Sport in silver yesterday.. I was waiting for the 09s because I wanted one in white but this was the only one they had in & I didn't want to wait. I literally purchased off the truck.. I had to wait a couple of hours for them to finish removing the plastic & detailing. So far, I'm very pleased with it. Although coming from a bugeye WRX, I'm still getting used to the power difference.

One question I have though.. is there a way to lock the fuel cap? Cause it seems easy for someone to steal gas from the car.

Congrats on the new Fit! I just sold my bugeye WRX and now wait for a 09 Sport MT in SSM. I should be getting a call any day. The wait is killing me!

Edit: I just noticed got it from Avery Green. I grew up that way - now living in the hot valley.

Yeah, I noticed you're in Davis & was about to ask you if you were in any suby meets by In-N-Out in Fairfield.

Edit: How do you do multiple quotes?

Anyways, I wanted white but I didn't really want to wait & the guy was gonna give it w/o dealer mark-up so I gave in. There were 3 or 4 people offering more for the car while I was signing the contract. LOL

Why are there so many 09 Fit buyers coming from Subaru? I had a WRX bug eye long time ago and had an Evo 8, then NC miata, now I am buying a Fit too but that's because Evos and STI has gotten so expensive nowadays for me.

Lol.. gas prices! I'll be on the lookout.. might get that familiar thumbs up or nod we get from fellow Suby owners.

Haha, gas is bad but not that bad. But Fit is one of those interesting little cars that has a cult following.

Never made it out there. I was actually living in FF for a couple years and the found out about the meets later when I moved. Oh well. Maybe a Fit meet in the future.

On the subject of Subies, I think we have a taste for unique cars... which is why we are converting over to the Fit by the numbers. I wish Subaru had a fuel efficient car at a low low price. The Fit is tough to beat!

My guess is that many Suby owners value the practicality of hatchbacks/wagons with, depending on the Suby, a dose or heaping of sportiness. The list gets pretty short for inexpensive, compact/subcompact hatchbacks or wagons with some semblance of sportiness and driver involvement. The Fit is one of the few choices, or arguably the only choice.

Same here -- coming off a 1993 Subaru Impreza wagon. Fantastic car, but it's hitting its limit (175k so far) and I don't want to sink any more money into it. I'd buy another Impreza in a heartbeat IF they came in 2WD. Otherwise the gas mileage just isn't worth it, especially when you don't need AWD around here in the mid-atlantic states.

LOL! I love Subarus! My wife too! We love taking our friend's WRX for a ride! I think WRX, EVO and small Honda's match up great! You guys are craving light weight braking ability and handling while we dig the power and AWD! We compliment each other great!

My buddy just "hurt" his WRX motor! He is building a replacement 2.5L STI power plant to the max, yet his girlfriend (read: "HE"!) is on a market for a SI sedan as soon as she lands a new job. Once WRX is ruining she will be driving it daily and he will be in an SI! He has too many tickets on his record! At least that was the plan until he saw an '09 FIT last night!

We all love Subbie's, but it is getting old when a small underpowered Honda is pulling away from you through the twisties especially downhill! Extra weight is a bitch!
He can't wait for me to resurrect my CRX for track! He is "donating" one of the two WRX turbos he has sitting on the shelf to my project!

We will have some awesome track days with maxed out WRX and CRX! For some reason great cars have 3 letters and end with an "X"! Love it!

Ivan
