peanut is on a distinguished road
State: Georgia
Model: Fit Sport A/T
OTD Price: $18,126

I did trade-in my previous ride, so I didn't have to pay much in terms of tax.
Would've added floor mats to that price if they had any. Unfortunately the only ones my dealer had were generic carpet floor mats with the 2007 President's Award marking.

I think I got a good price considering how fast they are selling (and the fact it's a brand new model). It's hard to ask a dealer to sell the car that's priced a hair above invoice and sells before they can let it sit outside for a day.

Northern Wisconsin

State: Wisconsin (way up north)
Model: Sport AT, silver
OTD Price: $18,885 = MSRP + tax, license, documentation, etc.

I was happy to get out the door with MSRP. It was the only one on the lot (heck, the only one within 100 miles as near as I could tell), and customers were looking at it right up until I signed the papers.

Freeman Honda wants $19,333 out the door, which is about $18,000 + fees. I pushed hard for $18,500 OTD and they wouldn't budge. The sales manager said their "invoice" for the car is $17,395, but backed off of that when I told him to give me that in writing. I told them to call me when they can sell it for $18,500 OTD.

My first time to ever pay MSRP+ for a car, nobody would budge and no one had any in stock. Hit up everyone in town with emails and calls. All cars sold before a shipment came in. People were eyeballing my car and wanted to test drive it before I had signed all the paper work. I only waited 4 days after I deposited the $500.

1900ish for ttl processing is not out of the ordinary, i guess. (terrible though)

the 23K just surprised me, I should have done the math before I posted.

OTD Price: 17,580 (MSRP) + 1,397.33 (Tax) + 28.00 (DMV) + 55.00 (Doc) + 195.75 (Title, License and Tire Fees) = $19,256.08

I got MSRP through the Internet Managers. Anyone else using this route? Also, I didn't have to buy anything else, and I did get free wheel locks. If anyone wants a black at sport, there's still one there today.

Took delivery today (9/11) of my '09 Fit Sport AT in SSM with navigation and VSA.

Vehicle was purchased from Norris Honda in Baltimore, MD.

Manager and I shook hands on August 8 for the reserve of this vehicle at $500 under MSRP. He actually kept his word, minus $99 processing, so the net discount off MSRP was $401.

Price with the $99 processing fee was $19,029 plus Maryland taxes and tags. All my accessories will come from College Hills Honda. Only other benefit I received was lifetime car washes through their automatic car wash.

In addition, they honored the Carmax appraisal on my trade, where initially they were $1,000 low. So I was also able to save the 6% tax on $5,000 of the Fit's cost, thereby saving $300 more than I would have by wholesaling to Carmax.

All in all, given that my other car was dying, I couldn't be more pleased.

I love Cartelligent. CARTELLIGENT New Car Buying Service No dealership to deal with. The local dealer was supremely grumpy when we went to look at a Fit. "No Fits. Have to pay $2000 over. Have to put $1000 deposit down. Have to wait 6 months." We had our car less than a week later after talking to Cartelligent (they're only in CA - sorry.) Cartelligent does charge a $300 fee, which I should add in up top, but the lack of hassle factor and the pretty decent deal make it totally worth it. This is the second car we've bought through them.

Purchased in Willow Grove, PA, registering in DE. Called a random dealer today that I've dealt with before, someone pre-ordered this configuration, it was delivered 2 days ago, he changed his mind and wanted a red one. So I took it.

I was expecting to have to order this and wait till end of October.

Mine was the first one sold in Baton Rouge (Team Honda) by either dealership. It was a monstor fight for 100 dollars off of msrp. Basically, I wanted all weather floor mats included for MSRP, and finally got them to take off 100 bucks so I could go get them from College Hills Honda online.

The last two new cars I purchased, my 03 Evo and my parents 05 Tahoe I got for under invoice. This was the first car I could barely get a dealership to come off of MSRP. They started with 1200 ADM over MSRP, I got them to take that off pretty quick, but that last 100 was a uber-fight. I *don't* pay over msrp for any car, thats a sin in my book, I don't even consider that part of the negotiation process if they want my business.

I was a bit disappointed I couldn't get it for cheaper (my original offer was MSRP + they throw in cloth floor mats and the center console lol), but judging by everyone elses experiance seems like its similar (or worse) all over the country.

Good luck future 2009 Fit owners!

Res

That's a hell of a find at a fair price. The vehicle is tight as all-git-out. Not a rattle or a squeak. Can't beat Japanese assembly.

I left a deposit in May, when the dealer was not adding a "market adjustment" to new Fits and they told me price would be MSRP. Their display models currently show a $1000 MA. However they honored what they told me without any argument whatsoever and sold to me at MSRP.

Question

I'm going through Costco's Auto Buying Program. The deal they have with D.C. area dealership (F'Burg) is $300 over invoice for the Fit.

This is what I've been quoted for an A/T Fit Sport (no navi):

Price: $16909.28 (which I just realized is MSRP, NOT $300 under )
Freight: $670
Subtotal - $17,579.28

****Processing fee: $399
Subtotal - $17978.28

VA Sales Tax 3%: 539.35
VA Sales Tax 0.1%: 17.58
Total taxes - $556.93

Registration, Titling, Licensing: $58.75

Total Price: $18,593.96

***According to Consumer Reports, question any documentation/processing fee over $100. I'm a little leery to pay $400, it appears to me like 'built-in' profit by the dealer. I really like my salesperson (she's a retired nurse) and she's been helpful, and low-pressure with me. I told her already that I thought the $399 process fee was excessive, but her reply was "This is what Mr. Pohanka charges, and he's firm about it."

Any thoughts on that?

To my knowledge there is current no Authorized Costco Pricing. Website says so when you try to select the e09 fit, and the authorized dealership near me confirmed that they don't have numbers yet.

Did your dealership show you a Costco Pricing Sheet for the car? There suppose to do that and show the MSRP and Invoice Pricing.

The Honda Dealership that participates in the Buying program near me offered me $150 below MSRP, but was upfront that that was there choice and they were being nice b/c I was a member. I was going to buy from them but read my OTD pricing above. Purchased from a guy I've dealt with before.

$400 seems high for my area, might not be for your area though, mine was $275. If they can get your car relatively quickly though, might be worth it. Margin on these cars is minimal. Hell invoice to MSRP for mine is only $670.

It's possible that there is no new pricing deal yet, and they were just giving me the same deal on the 09's that they had worked out (and previously quoted me) on an 08 Fit.

That $400 processing fee is still bothering me...
