I didn't stability control in my old civic and i ran that thing like a beast. If you can drive and work an e brake you don't need it.

Please explain how you use your e-brake to make up for the lack of VSC?

vtec just kicked in yo is on a distinguished road
VSC is a SAFETY feature NOT a performance feature.

It helps you control the car in accident avoidance type maneuvers. It's not a magical handling machine that makes the car handle better in normal or even spirited driving. If you are a good driver odds are you will probably never use the VSC, but it is nice to know its there if you've got it.
