re: installing aftermarket keyless entry -- easy?

hey all,

thinking about buying the LX over the next few days -- mainly want the LX because of the keyless entry--

would it be possible to get the base model and install some aftermarket keyless entry system? i'm not interested in a remote starter, but a security system wouldn't be bad either, if that's possible

please keep in mind that I've never worked on cars before and this will be my first purchase -- for a big newbie who has no other plans to mod his car, how hard would it be to stick in an aftermarket keyless entry to a honda fit 09?

also, can anyone provide any links to any products they'd recommend (keyless entry/security system)

thanks!!!

The keyless entry is REALLY easy. I did it in about 20 min in the dark with only a flashlight. I don't know exactly what the canadian trims have, but the lx also has cruise control if im not mistaken. you may wanna consider that too. I wish i had it sometimes.

I recommend Bernardiparts.com to buy any accessories. They are really great.

thanks, will check it out

DX = DX
DX-A = DX + A/C
LX = DX-A + power door locks, remote entry, cruise control, 2 more speakers, and a few other minor things

the difference between the LX and the DX-A is $1100 (MSRP)

I guess for 1100, I get a slew of things I want: k. entry, extra speakers, power locks, and cruise control....

just trying to figure out whether it would be best to get LX or get the DX-A and add on the extra things I want....

looks like it would be best to get the LX
