Rear Hatch Trim Panel & Center Console Removal

I have been doing sound deadening on my MT Sport Fit. Anyone know how to remove center console and rear hatch trim panel? I am going to have some sound deadening material left over from doing the doors. I might as well make good use out of it.

The center console is pretty easy to take out. I installed the center armrest and had to remove the console to get it done. The instructions can be found on the college hills website (collegehillshonda.com). Look for the center console accessory for the 09 Fit and the instructions are linked.

haha i don't really know as i have never taken it off. i believe there may be one screw inside the part you stick your hand in to close it and everything else is just clips that snap. I've heard they're really easy to break too. try a search, there is probably a detailed DIY on this site for that

You'll see, these three items need to come out before you pull hard to remove the trim panel. It simply has clips holding it in, besides for these three things!

The white clips are all that hold it in, once you remove the three items.

You will see two slots to stick a flat blade screw driver to remove the grab handle.
Then with a flashlight located ones closest to the handle, started pulling the closest plastic studs. The first ones were quite difficult so I used s large flat blade to help pop them. It also helps to pry up on the bottom if the hatch cover (it does bend) to help see where the plastic studs are. After you get about 4 loose it finally starts to get easier to pop the rest.
Hope that helps!

Hi all, I tried to remove the center console, but I have some little problems here...

Whereas in step 5 indicated in the manual from collegehills, the center console cover (small piece with 3 tabs), could not be removed. I pried open from side using a plastic ruler and I only managed to remove the front of it and its back is still stuck underneath. Isnt it that I just pull if off by force and it will be removed? Also, how to remove the 2 front clips at side???

the two front clips, the ones close to the fire wall and on eather side are the screw type. you use a screw driver to start them then you pry them out.

Thanks for your reply. Can I check with you how to remove the center small cover near to the handbrake handle there? It is indicated to have 3 tabs in the guide.

Just take a small flat head screw driver, pry it up a bit and then yank it off. You won't break it. You might want to be a bit careful that you don't scratch the plastic though. If you don't think you can be gentle enough then use a small cloth over top of your flathead.

Thanks man. May I know pry up from which side of it (22 or 33, refer to the below )? The one near to the handbrake or the other direction?

If I remember correctly there's a small inset tab/hole where you can stick your screwdriver into, and I believe that's 33 on your depiction.
